Childhood and education
Amber spent her childhood in Ohio where she was raised alongside her siblings by their parents. She began taking dancing and singing lessons at the age of six, but soon developed an interest in acting, and at the age of eight began taking acting classes. After matriculating from a local high school in Ohio, she enrolled at Otterbein University in Westerville, from which she graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in acting.
Amber’s career as an actress
Amber launched her acting career in 2003, when she appeared in “The Three Stages of Stan” film which is based on short stories written by two San Francisco writers. Bob Vickery and Dale Chase. In the same year she played in the films “My Life with Morrissey” and “Advantage Hart”. In 2007 she portrayed a hotel manager in the “Hearts and Hotel Rooms” short movie, and in the same year could have been seen in the “Shiloh Falls” western thriller movie.
In 2009 Amber starred in the “Solitary” drama mystery film, which turned out to be her breakthrough role – the plot follows the life of an agoraphobic woman who believes her husband and her psychiatrist are conspiring to kill her.
She went on to star alongside her husband in the “Take Me Home” comedy romance film in 2013, which focuses on Thom, an illegal taxi driver who Claire hires to take her to California, after she finds out that her father has had a heart attack. Some of the other movies Amber has appeared in throughout the years include “And Then They Came for Me”, “How I Learned to Drive”, and “Proposals” among others.
