Who is Grace Phipps?
Born on 4 May 1992, in Austin, Texas, under the earth sign of Taurus, Grace Phipps is a 27-year-old American actress, dancer and singer. She is best known for her role as Lela in “Teen Beach Movie” – interestingly, this Disney original film is the second-highest rated television movie of all time, according to both fans and critics. She also appeared in the sequel, “Teen Beach 2”. Disney fame aside, Phipps is also known for taking on the part of Amy in “The Nine Lives of Chloe King”, an ABC series centered around a girl who realizes that she is a direct descendant of Bastet, an ancient Egyptian cat goddess. She also appeared in “The Vampire Diaries” during Season Four, and with a myriad of other roles and a relatively successful music career, Grace has accomplished quite a lot for someone who isn’t yet 30.

Early Life and Education: Growing Up in Texas
Grace was born into an American family in Texas, to parents Gil and Kate Phillips. Nothing else is known about them, except that the Phipps family moved around quite a lot, which resulted in Grace spending most of her childhood in Boerne and San Antonio, with her one sibling, a younger brother. In San Antonio, she attended Robert E. Lee High School, more specifically – their North East School division, with a special major in arts and musical theater. Around this time, she was also a member of “The Magik Theater”, a children’s troupe based in San Antonio. Grace was an exceptional student and managed to graduate summa cum laude. Currently, she is attending Columbia University in Upper Manhattan, New York City. In 2016, she wanted to return to school and get a formal education in acting, even more than she received during her high school years. After winning the Las Casas Performing Arts Scholarship Competition, Grace was noticed by a Los Angeles talent agent. He was impressed by her role of Rizzo in a production of the legendary musical “Grease”.
Career Beginnings: Fright Night, The Nine Lives of Chloe King and The Vampire Diaries
Immediately after matriculating, Grace made plans, moving to Los Angeles, California, to get better opportunities to find work. It didn’t take her long to find her way around Hollywood, as she received a call only seven days after arriving. Her agent called her with the proposal to audition for the part of Bee in the DreamWorks remake of the cult horror movie “Fright Night”. Even though the film was slammed by critics, and deemed unworthy of the 1985 original, Grace was praised for her acting prowess, and so set out to build on this success. At the age of 19, she was cast as Amy in the ABC series “The Nine Lives of Chloe King”; even though the show was cancelled after only one season, Phipps still left a mark, and built up her portfolio even further. 2012 was another successful year for Grace, as she was cast as April Young in the hit fantasy series “The Vampire Diaries”, appearing in a total of ten episodes during Season Four, quickly becoming a fan favorite because of the edginess of her character.
Sustained Success: Teen Beach Movie, Supernatural, Baby Daddy and More
After her first few years turned out successfully, Grace decided it was time for even bigger projects and ventures. Thus in 2013 she auditioned for the part of Lela in “Teen Beach Movie”, an original movie featured on Disney Channel. She sang and danced along with co-stars Maia Mitchell and Ross Lynch. Even though everyone predicted that the movie would be a success, nobody even dreamt of it being such a smash hit. With a total of 13.5 million viewers during the premiere, it was officially proclaimed the second-highest rated movie in the history of modern cable television. Grace’s singing was also on display, as she managed to win over teenage audiences around the country with songs such as “Falling for Ya”. Also in 2013, we saw her in “Supernatural” as Hael, and in “The Signal” as Zoe. However, her most notable role of the year was in “Baby Daddy”, in which she played Megan. The next year, she appeared in “Austin & Ally”, a Disney sitcom.
Maintaining Her Stardom: Teen Beach 2, Dark Summer, CSI: Cyber and More
2015 started off with a bang for Phipps, as she reprised her role as Lela in “Teen Beach 2”. Although the sequel wasn’t as critically acclaimed as the original, it still achieved great success in terms of viewership, watched by almost 6 million people, making it the most-watched television movie of the year. A few months later, we could see Grace in “Dark Summer, in which she was Mona Wilson. Horror movies became a favorite of hers, as she would take on the lead role in the slasher movie “Some Kind of Hate”, which debuted during the 2015 iteration of the Stanley Film Festival. In addition to her bread and butter, Grace wanted to try her hand at crime dramas such as “Hawaii Five-0” and “CSI: Cyber”, both of which resulted in positive reviews in relation to her performance. Recently, Grace has slowed down a bit, but has stated that she has some big roles in mind for the future. We just have to wait and see.
Music Career
Most artists develop their acting and music careers in separate manner, but Grace did something unorthodox – she used acting as a launching pad for her music. She was heavily featured on the “Teen Beach Movie” soundtrack, which resulted in fans getting to know her vocal talents as well. She was the main artist on “Falling for Ya” – the song topped the Billboard Kids Digital chart for several months, with additional appearances on the Heatseekers Songs chart and Hot Digital Songs chart; while she was featured in five more songs from the soundtrack, this will always be her biggest hit. In a 2014 episode of “Austin & Ally”, Grace sang “The Pilot and the Mermaid” with “Teen Beach Movie” co-star Ross Lynch. However, as of mid-2019, she hasn’t expressed any plans to release a solo album, despite fan speculation.
Personal Life: Does Grace Phipps Have a Boyfriend?
As for her romantic involvements, there is almost no information across any of the available sources that could accurately describe this part of her life. Grace herself tends to keep news about her partners completely private, and has not yet come forward to address these fan inquiries. Nothing is known about her early relationships, or her current status. She hasn’t been seen attending any public events in particular male company, and there’s no one that the fans suspect across her social media profiles. According to the available information, or the lack thereof, Grace Phipps is heterosexual and currently single. We do know that she was in a relationship with an older man who physically abused her, because she shared her story with the media, urging other people to report any type of abuse, and take a stand for such victims around the world.
