Life, Family, and Reality Television
Alabama was born into fame with both of her parents successful in their careers. She initially drew attention as a newborn, due to her mother being pregnant with her for most of the final season of the reality show “Meet the Barkers”.
The show followed the everyday life of her parents and her two older siblings. She also has a half-sister from her mother’s relationship with former boxer Oscar De La Hoya. “Meet the Barkers” lasted for two seasons and 16 episodes, partly taking advantage of Travis Barker’s fame after he was involved in the 2008 South Carolina Learjet 60 crash – Alabama made her television debut during the series finale. As she grew up, she was exposed to the success of her father and his involvement in the music industry. This led her to start pursuing a similar career despite being at a young age. She eventually released her own single entitled “Heartbreaker”, and also the single “Our House” in 2017.
Mother – Shanna Moakler
Shanna Lynn Moakler started working as a model at the age of 15, competing in several high profile pageants in the US. She was the winner of the Miss New York USA pageant in 1995, leading her to compete at the Miss USA pageant that year, where she finished as runner-up. She returned to the competition the following year, and was crowned Miss USA, while her rival Chelsi Smith won as Miss Universe. Following her run in the Miss USA pageants, she started posing for “Playboy” magazine, and was named a Playmate of the Month in 2001.
She then branched out towards an acting career, first working on the television show “Pacific Blue” as a regular cast member for two seasons. Father – Travis Barker
Travis Landon Barker began his passion for drumming at a young age, developing his skills and leading him to play in the band the Aquabats in 1996. However, two years later he left that band in favor of joining Blink-182. A year later, they released their album entitled “Enema of the State”, which launched them to mainstream success. Alabama is presumably too young at 13 to be involved with any romances She looks to develop her career and find success early with her parents guiding her path. Her father is known to be a Catholic, and prays regularly with his children. His religious beliefs can be seen in tattoos all over his body.
The first years of her childhood were tumultuous as her parents had an on-again, off-again relationship. After two years of marriage, her parents filed for divorce which was made public by the two talking about it on their respective MySpace accounts. With the divorce proceedings underway, the couple tried to reconcile several times -Travis even threw a birthday party for Shanna, and they were even seen in red carpet events together. This interspersed with reports that they had separated again, and Barker even mentioned that the divorce was finalized, though they gave it another go in 2009. Things escalated in 2014 when the police were called to a domestic altercation in Los Angeles, which led to both being arrested. Two years later, it was reported that the two were now on good terms, and managed to put the past behind them, focusing on co-parenting their children.
