Who is Cam Gigandet?
American actor Cam Gigandet was born in Tacoma, Washington State USA, on 16 August 1982, making Leo his zodiac sign. He has 56 acting credits, and is perhaps still known best for playing James in the 2008 romantic fantasy movie “Twilight”, which starred Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and based on the eponymous book series by Stephenie Meyer. It follows Bell Swan who’s moved to a small city, and has fallen in love with Edward Cullen without knowing that he’s a more than 100-year-old vampire; the film won 33 of its 49 award nominations.
Cam’s today highly active in the film industry, and is currently working on eight upcoming movies, which include “Till Death Do Us Part”, “Outlaw Posse” and “Deep Six”.
Education and early life
Cam and his sister Kelsie, who’s today a celebrity hair stylist, were raised in Tacoma by their father Jay Gigandet and mother Kim; Jay’s a co-owner of The Rock pizza franchise.
Cam became interested in acting while studying at Auburn Senior High School, while he was also into playing basketball and baseball for the school teams. He matriculated in 2000, and then enrolled at Santa Monica College in California, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2004.

Cam’s debut TV series role was playing Mark Young in the 2003 episode “Feeling the Heat” of the mystery action “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, and the year 2004 saw him play Daniel Romalotti in seven episodes of the soap opera “The Young and the Restless”.
In 2005 and 2006, he portrayed Kevin Volchok in 15 episodes of the popular romantic comedy “The O. C.”, which starred Adam Brody and Mischa Barton, and was created by Josh Schwartz. It follows a troubled young woman who’s befriended a close-knit group of wealthy people, the series aired from 2003 through 2007, and won 15 of its 37 award nominations.
Cam’s since appeared in only two TV series, as he’s spent his career focused on acting in movies. In 2014, he portrayed Roy Rayder in 13 episodes of the crime drama “Reckless”, which starred Kim Wayans and Michael Gladis, and was created by Dana Stevens. From 2016 through 2018, Cam played the lead character Jake Green in all 20 episodes of the crime drama “Ice”, which also starred Jeremy Sisto and Audrey Marie Anderson, and was created by Ron Bass and Robert Munic. It follows the life of a diamond dealer, and the series was nominated for five awards.
Roles in movies
Cam’s film debut was playing Joe in the 2004 short thriller “Mistaken”, and the year 2007 saw him play Mick in the sports comedy “Who’s Your Caddy?”, which starred Big Boi and Jeffrey Jones, and was written and directed by Don Michael Paul. It follows a rap mogul from Atlanta as he’s trying to join the Carolinas’ conservative country club, and the film won one of its two award nominations. Some of Cam’s roles in the remainder of the decade were in the 2007 crime thriller “On the Doll”, the 2008 crime comedy “American Crude” and the romantic drama “Five Star Day”.
In 2011, he played one of the main characters, Hicks in the critically acclaimed action fantasy horror “Priest”, which also starred Paul Bettany and Maggie Q, and was directed by Scott Stewart. It follows a priest who’s disobeying church laws by tracking down his niece’s kidnappers, who happen to be vampires, and the film was nominated for three awards. He and American non-celebrity Dominique Geisendorff married in a private ceremony in 2008, attended by only those closest to them; she has a single acting credit, playing Kahlah in the 2007 horror comedy movie “Beneath the Surface”.
Dominique gave birth to their daughter Everleigh Ray Gigandet on 14 April 2009, and their son Rekker Radley followed on 23 January 2013; she gave birth to their second daughter Armie Heartly Gigandet on 30 November 2015.
Dominique filed for divorce in August 2022, and it was finalized by the end of the year.
Cam seems to be unattached as of June 2023, was married to Dominique Geisendorff, and they have three children together.

Cam’s been passionate about martial arts since a very early age, and today holds a black belt in Krav Maga, an Israeli martial art.
It was his former girlfriend who talked him into reading the book series “Twilight”, and won a role in the film trilogy based on the books only two months later.
