All we know about her past is that she is the daughter of Canadian immigrants, who moved to New Zealand before her birth. Diana went to Henderson High School, and later enrolled at the University of Auckland, from which she eventually obtained a Masters degree in Creativity and the Performing Arts in 2005.

Career Start

Dianna came in contact with the performing arts at a rather early age, as she began appearing in church plays during her childhood years, often playing Satan; this made her fall in love with performing arts on the whole.

However, she didn’t start her professional career until in her late 20s – more about the reason later. Her debut was in the play “Mapaki”, in which she both starred and wrote the script. The word “Mapaki” stands for “Broken” in the Niuean language. Her debut earned her nominations for Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards in the categories of Outstanding New Writer and Best Upcoming Actress of the Year. She went on tour with the rest of the staff, and performed across the US, while also having a stop in Athens, Greece.

Rise to Stardom and Television Work

Dianna continued to create – her second play was “Jingle Bells”, and the third “The Packer”, which became a complete hit. She went on tour throughout New Zealand and Australia, and also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. After this, she became a part of the Pangea World Theater in Minneapolis, and during the 2000s toured the US, making a name for herself.

It was in 2012 that she landed an internship with Killer Films NYC, and received a US Screenwriting Internship Scholarship.

Since then, she has become more focused on television, and has written screenplays for the film “Commission”, and created two short films – “Sunday Fun Day”, and “Vai”.
