Who is Finn Cole?
British actor Finlay Lewis J. ‘Fin’ Cole was born in London, England, on 9 November 1995, making Scorpio his zodiac sign. He’s appeared in nine movies and TV series to date, and is perhaps known best for portraying Young Jakob in the 2021 action crime thriller movie “F9: The Fast Saga”, which starred Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel, and was written and directed by Justin Lin. It follows Dom and his friends as they’re taking on an international terrorist, and the film won two of its four award nominations.
Finn’s currently shooting for the upcoming mystery horror thriller movie “Locked In”.
Education and early life
Finn was raised alongside his four older brothers in London, by their father Michael Cole who’s employed at a seaport, and mother Elizabeth Jacquest Cole who’s a housewife. One of Finn’s brothers Joe Cole is a successful actor with 38 credits to his name, and is probably known best for playing Billy Moore in the 2017 biographical crime action movie “A Prayer Before Dawn”, which won one of its eight award nominations.
Finn became interested in acting while attending a local high school, but initially wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and work on boats. His high school drama teacher cast him to appear in a number of school plays, often portraying lead characters, and Finn was 17 when he made his debut film appearance, playing Riot Boy in the 2012 crime action “Offender”, which starred his brother Joe and English Frank, and was directed by Ron Scalpello; it follows a group of teenagers serving time at a British young offenders’ institution.
Finn matriculated in 2013 and then enrolled at college, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2017.
Roles in movies
Finn’s appeared in only four other movies. The year 2015 saw him play Eric Birling in the crime mystery “An Inspector Calls”, which starred Lucy Chappell and Sophie Rundle, and was directed by Aisling Walsh. It follows a mysterious inspector as he’s investigating the rich Birling family now that a woman has committed suicide at their dinner party, and the movie won two of its seven award nominations.
In 2018, Finn played Don Wallace in the action fantasy comedy “Slaughterhouse Rulez”, which starred Asa Butterfield and Jassa Ahluwalia, and was written and directed by Crispian Mills; it tells the story of a sinkhole which has appeared near a British boarding school.
Finn was then cast to portray Eugene Evans in the popular 2019 western thriller “Dreamland”, starring alongside Margot Robbie and Travis Fimmel. The film was directed by Miles Joris-Peyrafitte, follows a teenager who’s become a bounty hunter and was nominated for Location Managers Guild International Award for Outstanding Locations in a Period Film.
Most recently, in 2020, Finn played Joseph Kearney, one of the main characters in the drama “Here Are the Young Men”, which also starred Anya Taylor-Joy and Dean-Charles Chapman, and was written and directed by Eoin Macken. It follows the lives of three teenage boys who’ve become addicted to drugs and alcohol, and the movie won one of its five award nominations.
Roles in TV series
Finn’s appeared in three TV series. His debut was playing Ollie Tedman in two episodes (2015) of the crime mystery “Inspector Lewis”, which starred Laurence Fox and Kevin Whately, and aired from 2006 through 2015; the series follows two detectives as they’re solving the toughest of cases, and it won one of its four award nominations.
From 2014 through 2022, Finn played Michael Gray in the critically acclaimed crime drama “Peaky Blinders”, which starred Paul Anderson and Cillian Murphy, and was created by Steven Knight. Set in 1900s England, the series follows the members of a gangster family, and it won 22 of its 73 award nominations.

From 2016 through 2022, Finn starred as Joshua ‘J’ Cole in 75 episodes of the crime drama “Animal Kingdom”, which also starred Ben Robson and Shawn Hatosy, and was created by Jonathan Lisco. It follows the lives of members of a Southern California family who’re involved in criminal activities, and the series won one of its five award nominations.
Other credits
Some of Finn’s talk-show appearances have been in “Celebrity Page”, “Entertainment Tonight” and “Hollywood Insider”.
Love life and relationships
Finn’s amongst the most secretive British actors, as he’s yet to mention any girls or boys whom he’s maybe been with. His secrecy about his love life has led some of his fans to believe that he’s gay, and that he’s today in a relationship with a non-celebrity British boy. Several people on the internet have claimed to have seen the two spending time together in London, but Finn hasn’t taken the time to address the rumors, nor has any evidence been provided in support of these.
There are also those who think that Finn’s perhaps simply focused on his career and isn’t pursuing love, but this hasn’t been confirmed either.
Finn seems to be unattached as of June 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Interesting facts and hobbies
Finn’s followed by more than a million people on Instagram, and most of his internet popularity came after he appeared in the series “Peaky Blinders”; he’s posted close to 300 pictures and videos onto the network, with most of these showing him during his everyday life.
He enjoys being outdoors, and prefers to vacation at natural locations rather than in overcrowded cities.
Finn’s a lover of animals, and has featured his pet dog in some of his Instagram content.
He likes to drink alcohol, and his favorite is rum.
One of Finn’s favorite actors is Cillian Murphy, and some of his favorite movies include “Inception”, “Batman Begins”, and “28 Days Later”.
