During her time there, Susan was learning languages and can today speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English all fluently.

Love life and husband
Susan is one of the most secretive women in the news industry, as she hasn’t shared any details regarding the men she might have dated throughout the years.
Whether it is because Susan has been completely focused on her career and doesn’t have time for men or because she prefers to keep her personal matters to herself, regardless she hasn’t talked about her love life at all. Rumor has it that the popular journalist was dating a man while she was working in China, and that the two have exchanged their wedding vows there, however, this hasn’t been confirmed and it appears as Susan is still single and unmarried.
Another rumor has it that Susan is currently living together with her boyfriend in the US, but as she hasn’t commented on this herself, nothing about it can be said with certainty.

She is very passionate about travelling, and her job has made it possible for her to live in Canada, the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa as well – she has (apparently) finally settled in the US, and is not planning on moving again anytime soon.
