Nayyera Haq is married to a man whose name has not been revealed. He comes from Oakland, California and is of African-American ethnicity. Her husband enrolled after matriculation in Tuskegee University, Alabama, from which he graduated and now works as a veterinarian. It is also known that he and his parents converted to Islam.
