Given the fact that his family was very religious, he didn’t socialize much during his childhood, spending a lot of time at church camps. In an interview with Blag magazine, he said: ‘I was sheltered as a kid, so I quickly realized what I didn’t want to do and how I didn’t want to live. This helped me mature and get my priorities straight.’ Other than religion, his parents also put emphasis on education – an outstanding student, Luke matriculated from Dayton Christian High School in May 2002. Afterwards, he decided he wanted to be an actor; acting was a way of expression for Luke, so the logical solution was to move to New York City, where he enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts to study acting.
