He is an actor, stand-up comic, musician, and spoken word artist, best known for being one of the stars of the NBC television series “Chicago P.D.”, in which he plays Officer Kevin Atwater. He has also played the same character during crossovers with “Chicago Fire”.

Illinois State University (ISU) is located in Normal, Illinois, with its history dating back to 1857, making it the oldest public university in the state. The school emphasizes teaching, with many of its graduates going on to become teachers, making it one of the largest producers in the country. During his time there, he appeared in the college play entitled “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” as Toledo. The play is about the African-American experience during the 20th century, dealing with issues of race, art, exploitation and religion.
He also landed his first professional acting project while a student, gaining the role of Art Baker in the film “The Express; The Ernie Davis Story”, based on the book entitled “Ernie Davis: The Elmira Express” written by Robert C. Gallagher. It follows the story of the titular character, an American Football player from Syracuse University, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1961, despite racial issues of the time. The film received positive reviews but bombed, losing money at the box office. After graduation, he then proceeded to look for more acting projects, beginning with a guest appearance in the show “Detroit 1-8-7”.

Chicago Fire and Recent Projects
After a guest appearance in “Underemployed”, LaRoyce was cast in his first long-term role, as a recurring character in the television series “Chicago Fire”. The show airs on NBC, and is a part of Dick Wolf’s “Chicago” franchise. It follows the story of firefighters and paramedics who work as a part of Firehouse 51 of the Chicago Fire Department. The department is also the home of several other companies and groups, dedicated to protecting Chicago from fires. The show has been airing for at least seven seasons. In which he is mostly a recurring character.
Thanks to his work there, he also gained his biggest role, as one of the stars in another franchise program, entitled “Chicago P.D.”. The show aired on NBC as a mid-season replacement, following the patrol officers who are a part of the Chicago Police Department under the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District. They pursue numerous offenders and criminals in the show, which has also now been airing for over seven seasons.
LaRoyce has also been involved in a few film projects. In 2018, he had a role in the drama thriller entitled “Canal Street”, and also worked on the independent film “Hope Springs Eternal”.

For his personal life, not much is known in terms of his romantic relationships.
