Ivy Calvin was born on the 10th September 1971, in Palmdale, California, USA; he has spent his entire childhood in California where he finished high school. After matriculation, Ivy enrolled at California State University in Northridge. He’s never said what he studied, but revealed that he was a rather successful linebacker for the university’s American Football team.

Career Beginning

Ivy started his career as a professional arena football player; however, he soon switched from the walls of the arena to the octagon, to become a mixed martial artist. His debut as a fighter happened in 2002; his opponent was Samu Samu, and Ivy was named the winner after 1:22 into the fight, by submission. Since then, he hasn’t had any fights, and has focused on other endeavors, such as his thrift store.

Ivy became interested in storage lockers in his college years, and would often attend auctions held in his neighborhood. He started buying and selling all that he could find, and as he got older, his aspirations increased, and from a small buyer he became a major player. Years into the business, Ivy started traveling across the USA, trying his luck and scoring big after storage sales. It was in 2013 that he finally got his chance to prove his talents, as he was chosen as the new cast member of the reality TV show “Storage Wars”.

He joined the show officially in its third season, and from 2013 to 2017 appeared in over 65 episodes, which made him a star. He immediately made an impact on other buyers and auction leaders, primarily for his dominant personality. He always knew what he was doing, but it was also during his time on the show that his luck was alongside him. He took his career and business to the next level with the moniker, King of Palmdale. He had several big scores while in the show, contributing nicely to his wealth.
