Who is Debby Ryan?
American actress and singer Deborah Ann ‘Debby’ Ryan was born in Huntsville, Alabama USA, on 13 May 1993, making Taurus her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in 53 movies and TV series, and is probably best known for playing the lead character Patty Bladell in the popular thriller comedy series “Insatiable”, which also starred Christopher Gorham and Dallas Roberts, and was created by Lauren Gussis. It follows a disgraced civil attorney who’s become a beauty pageant coach, and has begun coaching a vengeful bullied teenager; the series aired its 22 episodes in 2018 and 2019.
Debby’s today highly active in the film industry, and is currently shooting for the upcoming movie “Howdy, Neighbor!”

Debby was raised in Huntsville and Germany alongside her brother Chase Ryan, as their father Chris Ryan began working in Germany as a civilian consultant to the US military when Debby was seven; their mother Sandy Popp Ryan was an elementary school teacher, and a former stage actress.
Debby was seven when she began appearing in theatre plays in Germany; she studied at an elementary school there prior to moving back to the US and settling in Texas, where she was then homeschooled. She was still only 14 when she made her debut film appearance, playing Teenager in the 2007 family drama “Barney: Let’s Go to the Firehouse”, and she’s been active in the film industry since then – Debby passed her GED tests in 2011, and hasn’t attended college.
Roles in TV series
Debby’s debut TV series role was playing Bailey Pickett in two episodes of the 2007 family comedy “Yay Me! Starring London Tipton”, and the year 2009 saw her appear in an episode of both the musical family comedy “Hannah Montana” and the adventure comedy “Wizards of Waverly Place”.
From 2008 through 2011, Debby played Bailey Pickett aka Princess Xaria in the popular action adventure comedy “The Suite Life on Deck”, which starred Cole and Dylan Sprouse, and was created by Jim Geoghan and Pamela Eells. It follows the lives of twin brothers Cody and Zack Martin, and the series won six of its 15 award nominations. Some of Debby’s following roles were in the romantic comedy “Private Practice”, the action adventure comedy “Zeke and Luther” and the crime action “The Glades”.
From 2011 through 2015, Debby starred as Jessie Prescott in the family comedy “Jessie”, which also starred Cameron Boyce and Peyton List, and was created by Phil Baker and Pamela Eells. It follows the life of a Texan teenager who’s just moved to New York City, and the series won two of its 14 award nominations. Debby was then cast to play and voice supporting characters in the animated family fantasy “Goldie and Bear” (voice role), the crime comedy “The Mysteries of Laura” and the musical comedy “Sing It!”

In 2008, Debby played Popular Girl in the hit biographical comedy “The Longshots”, which starred Keke Palmer and Ice Cube, and was directed by Fred Durst. It tells the true story of 11 year-old Jasmine Plummer, who was the first girl to play in the Pop Warner Football Tournament, and the movie was nominated for two awards.
Some of Debby’s following roles were in the 2009 family comedy “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana”, the 2010 family fantasy “What If…” and the 2010 fantasy “16 Wishes”. In 2011, she played Bailey Pickett in the crime adventure comedy “The Suite Life Movie”, which starred Dylan and Cole Sprouse, and was directed by Sean McNamara. It follows Zack and Cody as they’re taking part in a project about the effects of twins called Gemini Project.

She played Wedding Guest in the 2014 adventure crime comedy “Muppets Most Wanted”, which starred Ty Burrell and Ricky Gervais, and was written and directed by James Bobin. One of her most recent roles has been portraying Debby in the 2023 action crime adventure “Fast X”, which starred Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel, and was directed by Louis Leterrier. It follows a son of drug kingpin Hernan Reyes as he’s targeting Dom Toretto and his family.

Debby has three producing credits: 72 episodes of the family comedy series “Jessie” from 2011 through 2015, and in 2016 the family movie “Jessica Darling’s It List” and the musical video “The Never Ending: Santa Baby”.

Debby and American musician Joshua William ‘Josh’ Dun began dating in May 2013, but broke up in September 2014; Dun’s probably known best for being one half (drummer) of the musical duo Twenty One Pilots, with the other half being American singer and rapper Tyler Robert Joseph.
Debby and Josh began dating again not long after their break-up, and married in a private ceremony in Austin, Texas on 31 December 2019; the two are today living together in Columbus, Ohio.
Debby’s revealed that she’d previously been in a relationship with a mentally and physically abusive man, and that the relationship led her to team up with the organization Love is Respect for their anti-domestic violence campaign – Don’t Look Away.
Debby’s married to Joshua William ‘Josh’ Dun as of June 2023, and doesn’t have children.

She was arrested for driving under the influence in April 2016; after pleading no contest to reckless driving on 30 June, she was sentenced to three years on probation, and had to enroll at rehab program.
