She grew up in Montreal as her parents moved there while she was still very young. She often watched movies with her mother until she would fall asleep, however, after seeing the “Labyrinth” movie, Charlotte fell in love with acting and decided to make it a career. Her mother saw her passion and did whatever she could to help her – Charlotte often mentions her mother, and credits her with her success in the film industry.

After she matriculated from Runnymede Collegiate Institute, Charlotte didn’t enroll at college but rather went on to pursue her dream of becoming a popular actress.

Charlotte’s career as an actress

Charlotte’s acting career was launched when she was only 13 years old, as she had a lead role as Marion Hawthorne in the “Harriet the Spy” movie shot in 1996, then went on to become the main star of “The New Ghostwriter Mysteries” shot in 1997, and subsequently appeared in numerous movies over the years. Soon after she landed her first role, she appeared in “The Legend of Gator Face” in the same year, but then it took her nearly two years to win her next role, as Jazz in the “Shadow Builder” movie. She had a notable role in “Fever Pitch” and “Booth”, movies shot in 2005, and then appeared in “Population 436” in 2006, and “Love & Justice” in 2008. “Citizen Gangster” and “388 Arletta Avenue” are the movies she was in in 2011 – she played Kai in “The Colony” movie shot in 2013, Rachel in “Parachute” in 2014, Dori in “Mr Write” in 2016, and her last movie role was in “Radius” in 2017.

Charlotte has appeared in many more TV series than movies – her first three series were all shot in 1996, entitled “Goosebumps”, “Kung Fu: The Legend Continues”, and “The Pathfinder”. She won her role of Diana in the “Are You Afraid of the Dark” series in 1999, and then played Katherine Dewson in two episodes of the “Blue Murder” series in 2001 and 2003. She was cast in the main role in the “Across the River to Motor City” TV series in 2007, but still didn’t gain recognition until selected to play Officer Gail Peck in the “Rookie Blue” police TV series from 2010 to 2015 – she’s appeared in a couple of series since then, including in “Saving Hope” in 2015, and “Frankie Drake Mysteries”, then in “Mary Kills People” (2017-19) playing Nicole Mitchell, concurrently appearing as Jennifer Baker in “Caught” in 2018.

Most recently,  Charlotte has been very much in demand, and was Erin in “12 Pups of Christmas” (2019), Brigitte in “Wynonna Earp” (2021), Adeline French in “Pretty Hard Cases” (2022), and in an episode of “FBI” in 2023.

Personal matters and husband

Charlotte is very secretive when it comes to her love life but has still shared some details with her fans regarding her husband . Charlotte met her future other half Peter Stebbings while both were shooting for a TV series – Charlotte was playing a deceased person at a funeral while Peter was one of the people attending the funeral. They were an instant match, and began dating not long after – several years passed until Charlotte was asked about her boyfriend by her interviewer.

She admitted that the two had married in 2010, in a very small ceremony which only their closest friends and families attended. While they were initially not planning on starting a family yet, Charlotte became pregnant and gave birth to their daughter in 2015. The family of three seems to be living a happy life together, and there are no rumors nor controversies surrounding them. Charlotte hasn’t talked about any other men she might have dated before Peter, and therefore her past love life remains a mystery.

Charlotte might appear to be completely focused on her acting career, but there are numerous other things she enjoys doing in her free time.
