Born Casey Morton Cott on the 8th August 1992, he is the middle child of Rick Cott, a former pilot with the US Air Force and an investment manager, and his wife, Lori. The Cott family moved in his childhood, and he lived in several states, but spent the majority of his early years in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where he went to Chagrin Falls High School.
Upon matriculation, he enrolled at Boston University, which he attended for two years before he switched his interest and joined Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. He finished his studies in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Before his on-screen career started, Casey honed his skills at a local Ohio theater, making appearances in such plays as “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” and “Rome and Juliet”. He left Ohio for school and secured constant appearances in the regional theatre of Pittsburgh, while also working on university theater productions.
Some of his successful productions include “Parade”, performed at the New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh, and he was Moses in the play “The Prince of Egypt”, a musical project by Stephen Schwartz held at the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, New York.
