Amy Kei Okuda was born on the 6th of March 1989, in Torrance, California, USA. At the young age of five, Amy began playing basketball, but after suffering from a sports-related injury, she took up dancing classes to cope with the injury. She developed an interest in dancing and had an obvious talent in it, but to widen her career opportunities, she was advised to take up acting ,as well along with dancing. After her high school matriculation, she attended the University of California and graduated with a BA degree in Cinematic Arts, Film and Television Production.

In 2010, she starred in the short film based on the Spitzer Space Telescope entitled “Spaceship Spitzer: Bots of Both Worlds”, and continued guest-starring in television shows including “Bite Me”, “BFFs”, “The Middle” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, as well as in films such as “Elf Sabers”, “Chastity Bites” and “House Meeting”.

In 2015, she was cast in the second season of “How to Get Away with Murder” in the recurring role of Catherine Hapstall, appearing in 11 episodes that season. The next year she appeared in “Scream Queens” as Anna Plaisance, and in “The Good Place” as Jessica/Gayle.
