A writer, comedian and actress, Natasia Demetriou caught the eye of the playing Nadja in the series “What We Do in the Shadows”, opposite Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, and Harvey Guillen. Her character, a more than 500-year-old vampire of Romani and Greek heritage, is one of the main characters in this comedy fantasy horror which chronicles the nightlives of four vampires from Staten Island.

Natasia has nearly 35 acting credits to her name, and besides the aforementioned role, she’s known for her portrayal of Sophie in the series “Stath Lets Flats”, which earned her the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award nomination for Female Performance in a Comedy Programme.

Early life, family, and education

Born Natasia Charlotte Demetriou under the zodiac sign of Capricorn on 15 January 1984, she’s today aged 39. A native of London, England, she holds British nationality and comes from a family of Greek-Cypriot and English descent, raised by her parents, father Sotiris, and mother whose name she hasn’t shared, alongside her brother, Jamie, also an actor and writer.

Roles in movies

Natasia’s first movie role came in 2014, when she was cast to play Nicole in the short drama “Intervention”. She followed with roles in the 2015 short comedy “Mr. Bean: Funeral”, and in the following year, Natasia was seen as Jaq Wheat in the TV movie “Revived”, before making her big-screen debut two years later.

She was cast to play Bride Smurf in the musical comedy “The Festival”, which followed the story of Nick whose best friend Shane has a perfect solution for Nick’s broken heart- three days at a music festival. The movie was nominated for three National Film Awards, United Kingdom.

She was linked to one of her co-stars from “What We Do in the Shadows”, Kayvan Novak, however, when it was revealed that he’s married to Talitha Stone, the rumors stopped.

Even her sexual orientation has been questioned, as many assumed that she might be lesbian, since she hasn’t spoken about any man whom she has been with. However, Natasia said that she’s straight, but still supports the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.
