Charissa Thompson Wiki Bio

Charissa Jean Thompson was born in Seattle, Washington State USA on 4 May 1982 – her zodiac sign is Taurus, and she holds American nationality. She’s a TV show host, sportscaster and an actress, who’s probably known best for the work which she has done for the programming division Fox Sports of the American mass media company Fox Corporation.

Early life and education

Charissa was raised in Seattle alongside her two older siblings, by their mother Cathy and their father Scott Thompson; little is known about her parents, because she respects their privacy, but it’s said that her father was a used-car salesman, and that her mother was a journalist.

Charissa became interested in journalism at a very early age, and it’s widely believed that this was because she looked up to her mother. She spent nearly every evening watching the news with her father, and was around 12 when she began thinking about becoming a broadcaster. Charissa moved to Kenmore, Washington State when she was 14, to attend Inglemoor High School, and was interested in various activities during her four years there, including writing for a school newspaper, appearing in school plays, and playing soccer.

Upon matriculating in 2000, she enrolled at community college in California, but eventually moved to the University of California, Santa Barbara, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in law and society in 2004.

Prior to becoming a sportscaster, Charissa had an offer to become a model, and was contacted by the people working for the sports magazine “Sports Illustrated”, who wanted her involved in their body paint project.

Career as a sportscaster

At the beginning of her career, Charissa could’ve been seen appearing in many college sports shows on both Fox Sports Net and Big Ten Network, such as “Friday Night Tailgate”, “Big Ten’s Best” and “The 2007 MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet Parade”, and had signed contracts with both networks, working as their sideline reporter for both college basketball and football. She steadily attracted attention with her skills, and was eventually invited to join NFL on Fox, and cover the National Football League (NFL) games as a sideline reporter, covering her first game in 2008.

It was in the following year that Charissa dyed her hair from natural blonde to black, wanting to lose the ‘Barbie thing’; several sports blogs criticized her for trying to change her style, and she returned to being blonde after this. She was then invited to pose for and give interviews to various magazines, and her photo could’ve been seen featured on the cover page of the April 2009 issue of “Access DirecTV”.

Charissa was invited to appear in the show “NFL Now Updates” in 2010, and the same year saw her cover the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games for Yahoo! Sports.

She then continued working with Yahoo! Sports, covering the FIFA World Cup for them in June and July 2010, and in January 2011, the BCS National Championship. Charissa covered the Super Bowl game in the same month, which was followed by her coverage of the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game.

She joined the American international basic cable sports channel ESPN in June 2011, and on 12 September began hosting “Numbers Never Lie” together with Michael Smith, and occasionally filling in as a host for “First Take” and “Sports Nation”.
