Michaela Conlin was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania USA, on 9 June 1978 – her zodiac sign is Gemini, and she holds American nationality. She is an actress, probably best known for playing Angela Montenegro in the “Bones” Fox procedural crime comedy drama series.
Early life and education
Michaela was raised with an older sister in Allentown by their mother who is originally from China, and her father who is of Irish descent. Her mother is an accountant while her father is a contractor. She started acting at the age of seven, on stage in regional productions as well as in Pennsylvania community productions.
She studied at Parkland High School where she could have been seen acting in “Bye Bye Birdie” and “The Crucible” plays. After matriculating, she enrolled at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre in 2000. While attending university, she appeared in several plays performed at the Atlantic Theater Company, as well as at the Playwrights Horizons Theatre School, and Stonestreet Studios Conservatory. She also spent some time in Amsterdam, Netherlands where she was part of the Experimental Theatre Wing’s International Training Program.
Career as an actress
Michaela made her debut film appearance portraying Cara in the “Love the Hard Way” crime drama in 2001. She had a small role as a TV reporter in the “Pipe Dream” romantic comedy film in 2002, and in the same year played Marcy in “Garmento”. She took a four-year break from movies until her next role in “Open Window” in 2006, in which she played Miranda. She portrayed May in the “Enchanted” live action/animated musical fantasy romantic comedy film in 2007, and in 2011 was Heidi Sobel in “The Lincoln Lawyer”.
Two of her most recent roles in films have been in “Baby, Baby, Baby” in 2015 in which she portrayed Courtney Lee, and “The Disappointments Room” psychological horror film in 2016, in which she played Jules.
She made her debut TV series appearance in 2001, playing Rocky in a single episode of the “Law & Order” police procedural drama. In 2002, she portrayed a house director in an episode of “The Division”, and then started playing Dr. Maggie Yang in “MDs”, which was her first main and recurring role in a TV series.
In 2003 she appeared in both “JAG” and “The D.A.” TV series, before she started portraying Angela Montenegro, the lead character in the “Bones” crime procedural comedy drama TV series, until 2017 through 12 seasons and 246 episodes. Some of her most recent appearances in TV series have been in “Casual” in 2016, “Here and Now” in 2018, and “Yellowstone” in which she played the regular role as Sarah Nguyen through 2018 and 2019.

Michaela was rumored to be lesbian or bisexual after she began portraying Angela in the “Bones” TV series, as her character is bisexual.
However, the popular actress was dating actor T.J. Thyne in 2007, and the two were together for several years before becoming engaged, however, they didn’t take the next step. Many people believe that the two have a son together named Michael Vincent, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
After T.J., Michaela was spotted spending time with Arnar Gunnlaugsson, an Icelandic soccer player, spending the 2012 New Year’s Eve with him in Iceland. It is believed that the two dated for a year before separating. Michaela is currently seeing someone, but hasn’t disclosed the name of the mysterious man.
She has recently given birth to their son Charlie, on 3 February 2019, and they are currently living in her house in Los Angeles, California. Michaela’s best friend is Emily Deschanel, who starred alongside her in the “Bones” TV series, playing her best friend named Temperance Brennan. There are rumors circulating the internet that the two might even be involved in a romantic relationship.

She often takes her older sister with her on her travels, and some of her favorite cities to visit are London in England, Paris in France, and Miami in Florida. She enjoys going shopping with her sister as well, and the two are keen on tasting various cuisines, especially sweets, and Michaela has stated how they often experiment with buying weird-looking cakes.
In her spare time, Michaela goes to the cinema and some of her favorite actors are Robert De Niro, Paul Walker, and Anne Hathaway, while her favorite movies are “Sleepers”, “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, and “One Day”.
She has been interested in reading books since she was a teenager, and continues to this day, with some of her favorites being “Dear John” by Nicholas Sparks, and “Red, White, & Royal Blue” by Casey McQuiston.
She is interested in all kinds of art, and she had to take painting lessons so that she could better understand her Angela character in the “Bones” TV series. She occasionally goes to photography exhibitions, and is herself an amateur photographer.
