She hails from Dallas, Texas USA, holds American nationality, and comes from a family of English, Irish, German and distant French descent. Brooke was raised by her parents, Betsy and Brad, alongside her two sisters in European locations such as Paris, France, Milan, Italy, and Munich, Germany.
Brooke had been a ballet dancer since she was a child, but had to stop following a skiing accident. She began modeling at the age of 15, and then traveled to Europe with her family. Brooke made her film debut as Katrina in the 2001 fantasy comedy-drama “Shallow Hal”, also starring Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow. After seeing Brooke’s audition tape, the Farrelly brothers Bobby and Peter, developed a specific character for her.
Her next film appearance was in the comedy “The Salon” in 2005, followed by her roles in “Single White Female 2: The Psycho” and “Death to the Supermodels” later that year. Brooke was cast as Kate Graham in the 2006 TV movie “Trophy Wife”, which chronicled the story of Kate, who had a seemingly ideal marriage until her husband filed for a divorce after his affair with her best friend. Brooke’s romantic life has been the subject of several speculations, however, it’s known that she married actor Julian McMahon,on 22 December 1999, and their daughter Madison Elizabeth McMahon was born on 10 June 2000. However, Brooke and Julian separated, and their divorce was finalized on 7 January 2002.
