Born Samuel Peter Acosta Larsen on the 28th August 1991 in San Francisco, California USA, he is the youngest child of Henrik Larsen and his wife, Lupe Acosta Larsen, of Danish and Mexican ancestry respectively. From an early age Samuel began showing interest in music, as he started playing drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards as well. He went to Murrieta Valley High School, from which he matriculated in 2009. During his high school years, Samuel was a part of the high school band 15 North, as a guitarist and a singer.
Career Beginnings
Samuel took his first steps towards becoming a professional musician in 2010, when he auditioned for the ninth season of the TV show “American Idol” – he reached Hollywood but didn’t make the semi-finals. After this, Samuel started doing some modeling work for Ashton Michael, the designer, and while doing thi, he befriended Skip Arnold, and they moved to Los Angeles and formed the band Bridges I Burn; meantime, Samuel also started making his way on “The Glee Project”.

As he continued to work on his music, Samuel won “The Glee Project” and got the part of Joe Hart in the TV series “Glee”. This subsequently made him extremely popular, thanks to the success of the series – from 2012 to 2015, Samuel appeared in 25 episodes of the award-winning series, although the original deal was that he would appear in eight episodes. He received an SAG Award nomination, alongside other stars of the series. From there on, he continued to pursue acting and music in parallel, which further increased his exposure and popularity.
In 2015, he portrayed Uri in the comedy-drama film “The Breakup Girl”, while in 2016 he starred in the horror-thriller film “Recovery”, next to Kirby Bliss Blanton and James Landry Hebert. Most recently, he featured in the award-winning romantic drama film “After” and “After We Collided”, both in 2019, and appeared in the drama film “ism” (2019). To speak of his musical aspirations, Samuel has worked with the band Bridges I Burn and has also released music as a solo artist. His debut EP as a solo act was released in 2014, entitled “Vices”, while with the band he’s released five albums, with the debut coming out in 2012, “Pocket Love”. Their last release was in 2017, a single entitled “Blue”. In addition Samuel has worked with the band Palaye Royale, with whom he was on tour during 2017 and 2018.
