Early life and education
Zinzi grew up in California alongside her father Zishan, her mother Maria, and with five sisters and a brother. She was physically active while at high school, participating in cross-country racing – she was a letterwoman who later became a team captain, and won seven league championships.

Ryan Kyle Coogler was born on 23 May 1986 – his birth sign is Gemini and he holds American nationality. Ryan is a film director, screenwriter, and producer, who became a star after his movie “Black Panther” became a hit and broke multiple box office records – it is the highest grossing movie of all times to be directed by a black person.
Ryan was raised with his two brothers – Keenan and Noah – by their father Ira, who was a juvenile hall probation counselor, and mother Joselyn, a community organizer; both are graduates of the California State University in Hayward. Clarence Thomas, Ryan’s uncle, served as the secretary treasurer of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. Ryan ran track and played football at Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley, California, and was excellent at mathematics and science – after matriculation, he began studying at Saint Mary’s College of California on a football scholarship. While at college, Ryan was asked by a professor to try creative writing, the same professor who went on to praise his work and advise him to become a screenwriter.

His debut full-length movie entitled “Fruitvale Station” was released in 2013, and follows the story of Oscar Grant, an African-American man who was shot dead at the Fruitvale BART station by a police officer on 1 January 2009.
The movie won numerous awards, and led to Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios Inc. inviting Ryan to direct the “Creed” sports drama film. The movie was released on 25 November 2015, and after being praised for his skills, Ryan won the Best Director Award from the African-American Film Critics Association, as well as the New Generation Award given by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. What made Ryan popular worldwide was directing the “Black Panther” film, making him the youngest filmmaker ever to work at the Marvel Studio.

The movie was released in 2018, and praised by both critics and the audience, becoming the second highest-earning movie in the first four days of its release. Ryan is now working on ESPN’s documentary movie “The Day the Series Stopped”, as an executive producer – he will soon start working on the “Wrong Answer” movie, which follows the story of the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal, set to be released in 2020. He has also already agreed to direct a sequel to “Black Panther”, a sequel to “Space Jam”, and will direct the “Jesus Was My Homeboy” biographical drama film.

Zinzi is interested in languages, especially in American Sign Language, and is today working as an interpreter of the American Sign Language – before this, she was working for the Deaf Counseling Advocacy & Referral Agency (DCARA).
