Erin has an older sister. She went to the private St. Andrew’s School, a preparatory boarding school located in Middletown, Delaware. Erin finished high school in 1994, after which she enrolled at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in political economy.

During her university years, Erin excelled in sports, having played lacrosse and field hockey.

Career

Following her graduation, Erin became a financial analyst for Goldman Sachs. She was in the investment banking division, and her task was overseeing mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. After Goldman Sachs, Erin joined Citigroup’s digital media group, CitiMedia, to serve as its vice president.

However, this didn’t last long as she joined Bloomberg Television, to work as a Stocks Editor and anchor. She would gradually switch her focus to television, and started hosting “Bloomberg on the Markets”, which lasted from 2003 to 2005. After this, Erin was recruited by CNBC, and was made the host of the show “Street Signs”, remaining with CNBC until 2011, during which time she also co-hosted “Squawk on the Street”, next to Mark Haines. She earned an Emmy award nomination for her report on the chemical giant Transammonia and its operations in Iran.
