Katherine Elaine Hendrix is a native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, who was born under the Capricorn zodiac sign on 28 December 1970, which makes her 52 years old as of 2023. She is the daughter of the former actress, Mary Elaine DePersio, and the serviceman, Thomas Hendrix who fought in the Vietnam War. Hendrix’s father was serving in Vietnam when she was born and as a result, he never contributed to her naming. Her parents parted ways when she was 15 years old. She is of Italian, Danish, Irish, and English roots. Hendrix has a brother and sister named David Maher and Stephanie Smith respectively.
Hendrix relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, with her mother, and was educated at the Northside School of Performing Arts, and has trained in modern dancing and jazz. She later relocated to Los Angeles, California, to begin her acting career.

Career – Dancing and Modeling
Shortly before she matriculated from high school, Hendrix was discovered by Gary Harrison Dance Co. agents during a model search, and was offered a job as a professional dancer. She later began modeling and went on to pose for various brands including Levi’s, Nike, Sun Microsystems, and Mattel. Hendrix has also worked as a dancer in various old-school rap songs for bands and artists such as M.C. Hammer, Keith Sweat, Whodini, and Cameo. Unfortunately, her early career as a dancer and model ended prematurely, after she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle. After her recovery, Hendrix relocated to Los Angeles, California, to begin her acting career.

TV Appearances
Hendrix made her TV debut in a 1992 episode of the medical sitcom “Doogie Howser, M.D.” In 1995, she made a five-episode appearance in the Barbara Feldon and Don Adams-starred sitcom “Get Smart”, and her next notable roles were in the Sci-Fi Channel’s “The Chronicle” (2001-2002), the fantasy family drama “Joan of Arcadia” (2003-2005), and the politically incorrect comedy “Poor Paul (2009-2011).”
In 2015 and 2016, she was cast as Ava in the musical comedy “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll,” in which she appeared in 20 episodes. Hendrix’s fame skyrocketed for her portrayal of Alexis Carrington Colby in the drama “Dynasty,” which follows two wealthy American families as they fight and feud over their children and fortunes. Hendrix is seemingly single as of 2023. She began dating the American actor, rapper and writer David Faustino in 1995. Faustino is famous for portraying Bud Bundy in the Fox TV sitcom “Married…With Children”, and has also voiced numerous animated characters in Nickelodeon series such as “The Legend of Korra.” David and Elaine parted ways after dating for two years. Hendrix briefly dated the American film producer and attorney, Christopher J. Corabi in 2015.
Hendrix is good friends with the actress, comedienne, and TV producer, Lisa Ann Walter. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
Animal Rights Activism
Elaine is a devoted animal rights activist who has served as the spokeswoman for the animal protection organization, In Defense of Animals (IDA). She has also served as a board member for Stray Rescue of St Louis, and has been at the forefront when it comes to discouraging the consumption of dog meat. In 1999, the “Dynasty” starlet rescued a stray Australian Cattle Dog named Tiloc, and during the filming of “Good Intentions” (2005), she rescued a stray cat, which had been nicknamed ‘Cornbread’ by the locals – she added ‘Goodie’ to his name in honor of the movie. In 2012, Hendrix was nominated for an Alliance of Women Film Journalists’ Humanitarian Activism Award for her work for In Defense of Animals and the Animal Rescue Corps.
