Who is Jessica Lucas?
Canadian actress Jessica Lucas was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on 24 September 1985, making Libra her zodiac sign. She has 30 acting credits, and is perhaps still known best for playing Kate Tunney in the 2006 action fantasy adventure movie “The Covenant”, which starred Sebastian Stan and Steven Strait, and was directed by Renny Harlin. It follows four young men as they’re fighting supernatural forces in New England.
Jessica’s currently focused on shooting new episodes of the series “The Resident”.
Education and early life
Jessica was raised in Vancouver by her European-Canadian mother and Afro-Canadian father; not many other details have been disclosed about her parents because she respects their privacy, but Jessica’s believed to be an only child, as she’s yet to speak about having siblings.
She fell in love with acting at a very early age, and was seven when her parents enrolled her at Children’s Arts Theatre School in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Jessica began appearing in theatre plays aged eight, some of which were “Music Medley”, “Cinderella” and “Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs”. She was 14 when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing Rita in the 2000 episode “The Backstepper’s Apprentice” of the action science fiction “Seven Days”.
Jessica studied at a local high school in Toronto, and upon matriculating in 2003, chose to focus on acting rather than to pursue a college degree.
Roles in movies
Jessica’s debut film role was playing Vampire Girl in the 2001 family fantasy adventure “Halloweentown II: Kabalar’s Revenge”, followed by the 2002 drama “Damaged Care” and the 2006 drama “Split Decision”.
Also in 2006, she played Yvonne in the critically acclaimed romantic sports comedy “She’s the Man”, which starred Laura Ramsey and Amanda Bynes, and was directed by Andy Fickman. It follows Viola who’s begun disguising herself as her brother, and playing for his elite boarding school’s soccer team; the film won two of its seven award nominations. She played Haley in the 2011 action crime comedy “Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son”, which starred Brandon T. Jackson and Martin Lawrence, and was directed by John Whitesell. It follows Trent and his stepfather Malcolm Turner who’ve gone undercover at an all-girls school to catch a killer, and the film was nominated for four awards. Jessica could then have been seen appearing in the 2013 horror “Evil Dead”, and in 2014 the romantic comedy “That Awkward Moment” and the action adventure “Pompeii”.
Her most recent role has been appearing in the 2014 music video “Coldplay: True Love”.
Roles in TV series
In 2001, Jessica played Haley in the episode “Dances with Squirrels” of the romantic comedy “Much Ado About Whatever”, and in 2002 and 2003, she played Jakki Kaan in seven episodes of the science fiction adventure “2030 CE”, which starred Curtis Harrison and Corey Sevier, and was created by Yan Moore and Dennis Foon. Set in 2030, the series follows a group of teenagers as they’re trying to find a cure for the Progressive Ageing Syndrome, which makes all people die before turning 30, and the series won one of its two award nominations.
From 2001 through 2005, Jessica portrayed Bekka Lawrence in 47 episodes of the family drama “Edgemont”, which starred Sarah Lind and Dominic Zamprogna, and was created by Ian Weir. It follows the lives of several teenagers attending Edgemont High School, and the series won eight of its 25 award nominations. The remainder of the 2000s saw Jessica appear in the romantic comedy “Life as We Know It”, the drama “Secrets of a Small Town” and the romantic comedy “90210”.

Jessica’s keeping her love life away from the media’s attention, but we still know that the popular actress has been married for more than five years now. She and American chef Alex Jermasek announced in April 2017 that they’d become engaged, and they exchanged vows in a small and private ceremony on 13 May 2018. Alex prefers to stay away from media, but is still active on Instagram; he’s today followed by nearly 5,000 people, and has posted more than 560 pictures and videos, most of which feature him working.
Jessica gave birth to their child less than a year ago, but she and Alex are keeping him/her away from media, thus not revealing the baby’s gender, name and exact birthdate.
There are no other men whom Jessica’s perhaps dated, that we know about; she’s married to Alex Jermasek as of June 2023, and they have a child together.
