Candice Susan Swanepoel was born on the 20^th October 1988, in Mooi River, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, the younger child of Eileen and Willem Swanepoel; she has an older brother Stephen. She is of Afrikaner ancestry, with some Dutch descent as well as Zimbabwean origins through her father’s side.

She went to St. Anne’s Diocesan College, and as a child, she was an avid ballet dancer.

Candice‘s modeling career began at her age of just 15, when in 2003 she caught the eye of a modeling scout while strolling through the city market in Durban.
