Evil tongues could tell that she is known only as the wife of the famous “Venom” actor, Tom Hardy, but Charlotte Riley is much more than a celebrity wife. She’s a renowned actress with 35 acting credits to her name, who has earned numerous accolades and award nominations, including the Saturn Award nomination for Best Actress on Television, for her portrayal of Caris in the TV mini-series “World Without End”.

Just to mention a few of her other notable roles, Charlotte was seen in the hit series “Peaky Blinders”, and starred in the 2012 horror thriller “Entity”, which brought her a nomination for the British Horror Film Festival: Best Actress.

Early life, family, and education

Born Charlotte Frances Riley under the zodiac sign of Capricorn on 29 December 1981, she’s aged 41 as of June 2023. She hails from Grindon, County Durham, England, holds British nationality, and was raised in her hometown by her parents, Michael and Margaret, whose occupations haven’t been disclosed. Charlotte has two siblings, namely Simon and Joanne, who prefer to keep their lives away from the media’s attention.

Later that year, Charlotte played Holly Evans in the drama “Press”, followed by her role as Juliette in “Dark Heart”, also in 2018.

In the following year, she was cast to play Lottie in the mini-series “A Christmas Carol”, which was a gothic adaptation of Charles Dickens’ story, also starring Guy Pearce, Stephen Graham, and Andy Serkis.

Most recently, Charlotte was seen as Aelita West in the 2022 series “The Peripheral”, a mystery science-fiction drama starring Chloe Grace Moretz.

Charlotte made her big-screen debut as Sarah Hurst in the 2008 movie “Easy Virtue”. Four years later, she was cast to play Kate Hansen in “Entity”, starring opposite Dervla Kirwan and Branko Tomovic.
