Who is Seth Gabel?
American actor Seth Gabel was born in Hollywood, Florida USA, on 3 October 1981, making Libra his zodiac sign. He has 39 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for portraying Walter in the crime mystery series “Big Sky”, which stars Katheryn Winnick, Dedee Pfeiffer and Kylie Bunbury, and was created by David E. Kelley. It follows the work of a private detective from Montana, the series has been airing since 2020 and has won two of its 12 award nominations.
Education and early life
Seth was raised by his Jewish parents in Hollywood as an only child; after his parents’ divorce, his mother married her second husband and Seth took his surname ‘Cosentino’.
He fell in love with acting during his teenage years, and appeared in a number of school plays performed at his high school – the University School of Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Seth was 16 when he made his debut TV series appearance, playing Skunk Ape Witness in a 1998 episode of the crime documentary “Unsolved Mysteries”.
Upon matriculating in 2000, Seth continued his education at New York University’s School of the Arts, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004.

Seth’s debut film role was playing Harvard Student in the evergreen 2001 biographical drama “A Beautiful Mind”, which starred Ed Harris and Russell Crowe, and was directed by Ron Howard. It tells the true story of genius mathematician John Nash who was schizophrenic, and the movie won 37 of its 106 award nominations, including four Oscar wins, some of which for Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published, Best Director and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Jennifer Connelly).
Some of Seth’s following roles were in the 2002 romantic comedy “Tadpole”, the 2006 mystery thriller “The Da Vinci Code” and the 2008 romantic comedy “Good Dick”, all award-winning. In 2010, he portrayed Advisor in the action fantasy “Jonah Hex”, which starred Josh Brolin and Megan Fox, and was directed by Jimmy Hayward. It follows a bounty hunter who’s been offered freedom in exchange of stopping a terrorist from killing millions of people, and the movie won one of its five award nominations.
The first half of the 2010s saw Seth appear in several popular movies, including the 2011 romantic comedy “Take Me Home Tonight”, the 2012 thriller “Allegiance”, and the 2014 short comedy “The Hug”. In 2015, he portrayed Luke in the drama “Forever”, which starred Luke Grimes and Deborah Ann Woll, and was written and directed by Tatia Pilieva; it follows young investigative reporter Alice who’s suffered a loss, but has found her will to live and love again thanks to an enigmatic commune.
Some of Seth’s most recent roles have been in the 2016 short horror “Hyperthermia”, the 2016 short thriller “St. Jude’s Crossing”, and the 2021 romantic video game “Maquette”, in which he voiced Michael.
Roles in TV series
The first half of the 2000s saw Seth appear in an episode or two of various series, including the crime drama “100 Centre Street”, the romantic comedy “Sex and the City”, and the drama “The Lyon’s Den”.
From 2007 through 2009, he portrayed Jeremy Darling in all 23 episodes of the drama “Dirty Sexy Money”, which starred Donald Sutherland and Peter Krause, and was created by Craig Wright. It follows an attorney who’s been forced to work for a wealthy family from New York City, and the series was nominated for seven awards. The remainder of the decade saw Seth play supporting characters in the crime mystery “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and the romantic comedy “United States of Tara”.
From 2010 through 2013, he portrayed Lincoln Lee in the mystery science fiction “Fringe”, which starred Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson, and was created by Alex Kurtzman and J. J. Abrams. It follows a scientist and an FBI agent as they’re investigating unexplained phenomena, the series aired from 2008 through 2013 and won 18 of its 105 award nominations.
Seth’s also known for playing Cotton Mather, one of the lead characters in all 36 episodes of the critically acclaimed fantasy horror “Salem”, which also starred Shane West and Janet Montgomery, and was created by Adam Simon and Brannon Braga. It’s based on the witch trials in 17th century Salem, and the series was nominated for 14 awards.

Some of Seth’s most recent TV series roles have been in the 2022 episode “Milkmaids” of the horror mystery “American Horror Stories”, four episodes of the 2022 mystery horror “The Watcher” and the 2023 episode “Chapter 22: Guns for Hire” of the action adventure fantasy “The Mandalorian”.

Seth produced the 2016 short thriller movie “St. Jude’s Crossing”.

He met American actress and film director Bryce Dallas Howard while they were both attending New York University; she has 45 acting credits and is perhaps known best for playing Claire Dearing in the 2022 action adventure science fiction movie “Jurassic World Dominion”, which won one of its 18 award nominations.
Seth and Bryce married in a private ceremony in Greenwich, Connecticut on 17 June 2006, and she gave birth to their son Theodore Norman Howard-Gabel on 16 February 2007; their daughter Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel followed on 19 January 2012.
There are no other women whom Seth’s been with, that we know about; he’s married to Bryce Dallas Howard as of July 2023, and they have two children together.
