Kevin Serge Durand hails from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and was born under the Capricorn zodiac sign on 14 January 1974, which makes him 49 years old as of 2023. He is the son of Serge Durand and Reina Durand, and is of French-Canadian roots.

Durand made his TV debut as John Greer in an episode of the series “Exhibit A: Secrets of Forensic Science” in 1997. In 2000 and 2001, he played Cliff in six episodes of the Showtime comedy-drama, “Beggars and Choosers.” He then landed one of his most significant TV roles as Joshua in the sci-fi “Dark Angel,” which follows the life of a genetically modified runaway super-soldier named Max Guevara (played by Jessica Alba), who escapes from a military facility at a very young age. Durand appeared in 21 episodes of the series in his one-year stint, and shared the screen with the likes of Alba, Michael Weatherly, Richard Gunn and Jensen Ackles, among others.
In 2004, Durand was cast as Agent Jay Swopes in 12 episodes of the crime drama, “Touching Evil”, and went on to appear in an episode or two of various TV series – his next notable appearance was in the sci-fi adventure, “Lost” (2008-2010), landing the starring role of Vasiliy Fet, the unwaveringly brave and loyal surrogate son of the old Professor Abraham Setrakian (played by David Bradley) in the FX horror drama “The Strain.” Kevin starred alongside Corey Stroll, Bradley, Miguel Gomez, and Ruta Gedmintas, among others, and appeared in 41 episodes from 2014-2017.

His next notable performance was in the acclaimed historical drama, “Vikings” (2015-2016) which was followed by appearances in the sports comedy, “Ballers” in 2018, superhero horror “Swamp Thing” in 2019, and the fantasy horror drama “Locke & Key” 2021 and 2022. Most recently, in 2023, Kevin portrayed Jimmy in the Canadian drama series “Essex County.”

Durand made his film debut as Bazooka Marksman Joe in the 1999 spy comedy “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.” In 2004, he was cast as Carlos in the sci-fi thriller, “The Butterfly Effect” and in the same year, he voiced Black Knight Ghost in the animated adventure comedy “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.” In the mid- and late-2000s, Durand appeared in various film; the most notable included the Martin Lawrence-starred 2006 crime comedy, “Big Momma’s House 2” and the 2009 critically and commercially successful superhero movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” in which he portrayed Fred Dukes.
In 2010, Durand was cast as Gabriel in the action horror movie “Legion” and Little John in the Russell Crowe-starred action film “Robin Hood.” 2011 saw him play Lenny Jackson in the Canadian biographical drama “Citizen Gangster”, and in the year that followed, he was cast as Barry Burton in the fifth installment of the “Resident Evil” film series entitled “Resident Evil: Retribution”, sharing the screen with the likes of Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez and Sienna Guillory in the latter. In 2019, Durand starred as Richard Loffler alongside Nicholas Cage, LaMonica Garrett, and Famke Janssen in the action thriller “Primal.”
Durand will appear in the upcoming sci-fi action, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” in 2024.

Durand was an occasional backup singer for Russell Crowe’s music group, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts during the recording of the full-length album “Gaslight.” He’s also appeared in various Off-Broadway plays, including “Forever Plaid” and “Kiss Me Kate.” Moreover, he portrayed Injun Joe in the Broadway play, “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.”

In 2005, Durand was nominated for a Leo Award for Dramatic Series: Best Guest Performance by a Male. Durand is a married man. He walked the aisle with his long-term girlfriend, the Canadian actress Sandra Cho in October 2010. On 30 October 2015, Cho bore Durand a daughter, named Amelie Moon, shortly after which Durand took to Instagram to share the news with his fans, stating, ‘My wife and I are so proud to announce that we became parents yesterday! So grateful n Happy? #loveandgoodnesstoall.’ The couple’s celebrity friends, including the retired wrestler Robert Maillet, and the actor Matt Bomer, were among the first people to congratulate him after he broke the news. On 12 June 2019, the couple was blessed with another daughter, Winter Fox Durand.
