American professional wrestler Jade Cargill was born in Gifford, Florida USA, on 3 June 1992, making Gemini her zodiac sign. She’s currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), and is perhaps known best for having been the first AEW TBS Champion; she held the title for 508 days, which is longer than any other AEW champion.

Education and early life

Jade was raised in Gifford alongside her brother Shawn and sisters April, Dawn and Deandra, by their mother Debra Green and father Ricky Cargill; not many other details have been disclosed about Jade’s family, because she respects their privacy.

Jade studied at Sebastian River High School prior to transferring to Vero Beach High School, and was mostly into playing basketball during her time at both schools. She led her Sebastian River team to win a district title, was named the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and to the First Team All-Conference; she then helped the Vero Beach Indians win the district championship during her senior year, and was also named the team’s MVP, Conference Player of the Year, and to the Second Team All-State.

Jade matriculated in 2010 and then enrolled at Jacksonville University on a basketball scholarship; she played in 27 games as a freshman and in all 31 games as a sophomore. Wrestling career

Jade attended a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) tryout at the WWE Performance Centre in April 2019, and then began training at WWA4 Academy, a wrestling facility owned by Thomas James ‘T. J.’ Ballester, also known as AR Fox. Jade was mentored by American former powerlifter, strongman and professional wrestler Mark Jerrold Henry, and eventually began training at Face 2 Face Wrestling School, owned by professional wrestlers Richard Borger and Heath Miller; the second half of 2020 saw Jade train at the Nightmare Factory where she was mentored by Dustin Rhodes and Q. T. Marshall, while she was coached by Bryan Danielson and Sonjay Dutt in 2021.

She made her wrestling debut on 11 November 2020, when she interrupted Cody Rhodes in an episode of “Dynamite”, as well as teased the arrival of American former professional basketball player Shaquille O’Neal; it was revealed on the following day that Jade and AEW had signed a multi-year contract. Although she initially worked with Cody and Brandi Rhodes, she was soon pitted in a tag team match with Shaquille against the Rhodes; Brandi was replaced by Red Velvet before the match, and Jade and Shaquille were able to defeat them in an episode of “Dynamite” on 3 March 2021.

Jade’s debut singles match was in an episode of “Dynamite” on 17 March 2021, when she defeated Dani Jordyn; even though Matt Hardy offered to become Jade’s manager, she instead chose Mark Rattelle, aka ‘Smart’ Mark Sterling.

It was revealed in October 2021 that Jade would compete in the AEW TBS Championship; on 24 November, Jade defeated Rev Velvet in the quarter-finals, while she then won in the semi-finals against Thunder Rosa on 29 December. Jade became the inaugural AEW TBS Champion on 5 January 2022, when she defeated Ruby Soho; she defended her title against both Julia Hart and Anna Jay two weeks later.

The first half of 2022 saw Jade defend her title against various challengers, including Willow Nightingale, Tay Conti and The Bunny, and she formed the stable ‘The Baddies’ in April, together with Red Velvet and Kiera Hogan. Stokely Hathaway was hired as her new manager on 29 May at the wrestling event Double or Nothing, and Jade then entered a feud with Athena in June; they faced each other in a title match on 4 September, with Jade defeating Athena in less than five minutes. She then also defended her title against Diamante and Madison Rayne, but Nyla Rose stole her championship belt after the two began feuding; they wrestled on 19 November, with Jade defeating Nyla to retain the title.

On 13 January 2023, Jade became the longest-reigning AEW Champion with 373 days, and her reign continued until 28 May 2023, when she lost to Kris Statlander in less than a minute.

Love life and relationships

Jade prefers to keep the details of her love life to herself, but has still allowed her fans a glimpse into it.

She and American former professional baseball player Brandon Emil Phillips have been together for nearly 10 years now, and Jade gave birth to their daughter Bailey Quinn on 18 April 2017; they’re keeping their girl away from the media’s attention, wanting her to be able to lead a normal life.

Jade and Brandon revealed in March 2023 that they had become the owners of the professional women’s fastpitch softball team Texas Smoke.
