Early Life and Career Beginnings

G is of Swedish descent, and while she was born in Boston, when she was three years old her family moved to settle in Yarmouth, Maine. At a young age, she discovered her passion for acting and began professional performances as a child.

One of her first roles was in a production of “Madeline’s Rescue” by the Children’s Theatre of Maine, in which she played the titular character. She continued working with the group for the next few years, including in a production of “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing”, based on a novel of the same name written by Judy Blume, the first in the Fudge series. Wanting to try and find more opportunities in acting, she stayed in California for three months, trying out at various auditions.

It proved to be a successful endeavor and the family decided to permanently move to Los Angeles as she was getting a lot of offers. She trained with the Young Actor’s Studio in the area, while working on several projects.

Rise to Fame

One of Hannelius’ first television projects was the sitcom called “Surviving Suburbia”, in which she played the daughter of the character played by Bob Saget.

The show aired on the ABC, and was the first to feature Saget since his work in “America’s Funniest Home Videos” during the late 1990s. Following her run in the show, G then had one of her first long term Disney projects, playing Dakota Condor in “Sonny with a Chance”. The sitcom aired from 2009 to 2011, following the story of the titular character Sonny as she becomes a cast member of her favorite television show. The lead character is played by Demi Lovato.

Hannelius also had a guest role in “Hannah Montana”, and was then cast in another recurring role in “Good Luck Charlie” – the sitcom follows the story of a family in Denver, as they welcome two children into their home. Afterward, she worked on the Disney Channel film “Den Brother”, playing Emily Pearson – released in 2010, it stars her alongside Hutch Dano.

During the same year, she lent her voice for the character of Rosebud in the project “Spooky Buddies”, and reprised the role in sequel films such as “Super Buddies” and “Treasure Buddies”.

Recent Projects

In 2011, G was cast in “Madison High” which was intended to be a spin-off from “High School Musical”; it was set to be a series, and although the pilot was filmed, it was never picked up. The following year, she had a lead role in “Dog with a Blog” playing Avery Jennings for three years, starring alongside Blake Michael and Francesca Capaldi.

The show follows the story of a family trying to learn to live together, and accepting that their new dog can talk. She had concurrent projects too, including “Jessie” and “Sofia the First”, and a voice role in two episodes of “Wander Over Yander” as the character Little Bits; the show is about the titular Wander who rides across the galaxy with his best friend. A few of her latest projects include “American Vandal”, a Netflix Mockumentary that ran two seasons, airing as a parody of true crime documentaries such as “Serial” and “Making a Murderer”. She also worked on the independent film “Sid is Dead”, released in 2018.

Hannelius is in a relationship though has not specified any details about her boyfriend except for photos she has shared on social media. She is a big supporter of charities, and has worked with A Window Between Worlds, an organization that focuses on domestic violence prevention – she is known to be the host of the organization’s annual fundraising event called Art in the Afternoon.
