Carolina Gaitán Wiki Bio

Colombian actress and singer Carolina del Pilar Gaitán Lozano was born in Villavicencio, Colombia on 4 April 1984, making Aries her zodiac sign. She has 33 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for voicing Pepa in the critically acclaimed 2021 animated family comedy movie “Encanto”, which starred Maria Cecilia Botero and Stephanie Beatriz, and was directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush. It follows the life of a Colombian teenage girl, the only one in her family without magical powers, and the film won 53 of its 138 award nominations, including an Oscar win for Best Animated Feature Film.

Education and early life

Carolina was raised alongside her brother German Gaitan Lozano in Villavicencio, by their parents about whom not many details have been shared, because Carolina respects their privacy; her mother’s believed to be a housewife, and her father the owner of his own small business.

Carolina became interested in acting when she was seven years old, as she began watching TV with her mother on a daily basis. She became serious about pursuing a career in the film industry while attending a local high school, and played lead roles in a number of school plays.

Upon matriculating in 2002, Carolina moved to New York City and enrolled at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2006.

Carolina’s been married for close to a decade now, but as she prefers to keep the details of her love life away from media, not many details have been disclosed about the marriage.

She and her other half, Colombian non-celebrity Nicolas Moreno exchanged vows in a small ceremony on 11 April 2015, attended by not more than 100 people; it’s widely believed that Nicolas is a gym instructor, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
