Jean spent her childhood in New York alongside her parents, and studied at Harborfields High School in Greenlawn. She grew up in a very religious family and has been going to church since she was a young girl – she has also been a member of the church’s singing choir, and also helped them organize numerous events.

Jean wanted to become an actress while she was growing–up, and gave it a try after marrying Alex, but hasn’t made a career in it. George Alexander Trebek was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada on 22 July 1940 – his birth sign was Cancer and he held both Canadian and American nationalities. Alex was a TV personality, particularly known for being the host of the “Jeopardy!” game show since 1984. Alex was born to George Edward Trebek who came to Ontario from Ukraine, and Lucille Lagace who is a French-Canadian – thanks to his mother’s French heritage, Alex is fluent in both English and French. He attended Sudbury High School and had his first job at the age of 13 as he worked at the same hotel as his father. At the age of 18,, he enrolled at the University of Ottawa from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy in 1961 – he wanted to become a news reporter, and began working for the CBC network in 1961, however, he soon fell in love with game shows, and gave up on being a reporter.

Alex hosted his first game/quiz show in 1966, entitled “Reach for the Top” – he joined CBC once again in 1967, and hosted a skating program as well as their “Strategy” game show. The year 1973 saw Alex move to live in the US, and he began working for the NBC network as a host of their “The Wizard of Odds” and “High Rollers” game shows. In 1984, he began hosting the “Jeopardy!” game show, and  hosted it for more than 35 years – he also hosted a number of other game shows over the years, including “Classic Concentration” and “To Tell the Truth”.

Jean has done a bit of acting as well, as he has appeared in “The X-Files” TV series playing one of the ‘Men in Black’ men in 1966 – he has also appeared in a single episode of both “How I Met Your Mother” and “Hot in Cleveland” TV series.

Alex suffered from a heart attack in 2007, and another in 2012 – he was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer, and although he underwent chemotherapy, the odds of winning were very small, and he passed away on 8 November 2020

Jean is a very religious person and has been raising her children to be believers as well. She goes to the North Hollywood Church of Religious Science every week, and is listed as a practitioner on the church’s website. She enjoyed watching her husband on TV, and fell in love with the film industry mostly thanks to him – they often watched movies together, such as “When Harry Met Sally” and “Gone with the Wind”, as they are both fans of old movies.

Jean is a lover of nature, and prefers to spend her free time in the countryside – she has her own little garden in Hollywood Hills which she is solely taking care of. She also enjoys reading books, while her favorite writers are Agatha Christie and Guillaume Musso, a French novelist.
