The two met in 1984 while they were both having dinner at the Chicago Bennigan restaurant – although spending only a couple of minutes together while their mutual friends were introducing them, sparks could have been felt between the two, but nothing happened until they met for the second time. This was at a party organized by the same friend a month later, and Michael and Juanita officially began dating within days. Michael got on his knee on 31 December 1987 while the New Year’s fireworks were in the sky, and Juanita said ‘yes’ – however, due to jealousy issues, the engagement was cancelled but the two eventually married on 2 September 1989.
By the time wedding took place, Juanita and Michael were already parents to their son named Jeffrey Michael Jordan – Juanita’s husband Michael did not believe the son to be his, as he suspected Juanita to be cheating on him, however, they still decided to exchange their wedding vows.
