Their marriage culminated in divorce in 2005. Anwar is currently married to the actor, Shareef Malnik.

Sheffer was previously married to the actress, Leigh Taylor-Young, who played his mother in the TV series “The Hamptons.” The Golden Globe Award-nominated actress is 15 years older than Sheffer.
