Who is Amy Freeze?

Amy Elizabeth Freeze was born in Utah, USA, on 19 June 1974 – her zodiac sign is Gemini, and she holds American nationality. She’s a meteorologist who’s probably known best for the work which she has done for some of the most popular TV stations in the USA, including Fox and ABC, while she’s today working for Fox Weather as their meteorologist and anchor.

Early life and education

Amy was raised alongside her four younger sisters in Utah, by their father Bill and mother Linda Freeze; not a lot is known about her family, as Amy respects their privacy, but it’s said that her father was a high school soccer coach, and that her mother was a social worker.

Amy studied at Jeffersonville High School and was around 15 years old when she chose to focus on studying, so that she could later pursue a college degree and start working on her career. It was in her teenage years that she became religious, and is today a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Upon matriculating in 1992, Amy enrolled at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in communications in 1995. She then attended Mississippi State University from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in geosciences, and Amy then studied at the University of Pennsylvania, attaining a Master’s degree.

Career as a meteorologist

Upon graduating from Brigham Young University, Amy moved to Portland, Oregon and began working at the TV station KPTV, serving as a meteorologist on their show “Good Day Oregon”.

She then moved to Denver, Colorado after having been invited to work at the TV station KWGN, while she soon transferred to ABC-affiliated station KMGH also in Denver. Amy moved to Philadelphia to work as a co-anchor and meteorologist for the NBC TV station WCAU, and she could’ve been seen co-hosting the entertainment show “10!”, which aired on NBC10; Amy simultaneously worked at New York City’s Rockefeller Center as a fill-in host for MSNBC and Weekend Today, and has also worked as a sideline reporter for Major League Soccer (MLS) for NBC, as well as their sideline reporter for the National Football League (NFL) team Chicago Bears.

She’s also a bit of an actress, having appeared in the 2005 episode “My Life in Four Cameras” of the comedy series “Scrubs”.

Amy joined WABC in 2011, a job for which she had to move to New York City, and in 2017, NJ.com named her Top Forecaster in New York; during her time at the station, she was an occasional fill-in host on ABC’s show “Good Morning America”.

Amy’s amongst the first 20 women who have become Certified Broadcast Meteorologists through the American Meteorologist Society, while she also holds both American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association Seals of Approval; she has won five National Academy of Television Arts and Emmy Awards.

In October 2021, Amy left WABC after having been offered the job of Fox Weather anchor and meteorologist.

Most of Amy’s tweets serve to give her fans the latest updates on weather, although she occasionally writes about her life events, and shares her opinion on various matters.

Amy’s quite active on Facebook and is today followed by more than 30,000 people, and tends to update her account at least once a week, with similar content as onto her Instagram account.

She doesn’t have her own TikTok account but many videos featuring Amy have been uploaded onto the network by other users, mostly by Fox Weather, and these have been viewed over 100,000 times.

Love life and husband

Amy prefers to keep the details of her love life to herself, but it’s still widely known that she was a married woman. She was 20 years old when she married Gary Arbuckle in 1994 – the two had met while they were both attending Brigham Young University, where Gary was the university’s mascot Cosmo, while Amy was a cheerleader. Gary went on to become a chiropractor, and Amy gave birth to their three sons Tyler, Jared and William, and to their daughter Kate.

Amy and Gary divorced in 2016, and she hasn’t spoken of any men whom she has perhaps since been with, while it’s widely known that Gary’s today married to Andrea.
