Shanon’s ex-husband Abilio James ‘Jim’ Acosta, was born on 17 April 1971, under the sign of Aries in Washington, D.C., USA of Cuban, Czech and Irish descent. He attended Annandale High School, Virginia, and upon matriculation he enrolled iton James Madison University, from which he graduated with a BA degree in Mass Communication in 1993.
While in high school, Jim started volunteering for the WXHM student radio station, and later moved to work as a reporter for the local radio station WSVA.
His official career started after he was hired at WMAL, a sports radio station in Washington, D.C. where he worked until 1994, and then moved across town as a desk assistant at WTTG-TV. He then worked for two years as a reporter at KTVT-TV in Dallas, Texas, followed by a period at WBBM-TV, located in Chicago, Illinois.
