Andy was raised in a Catholic family in California, and had a rough childhood as he spent his early years struggling with finding himself to be gay – he knew this would not be accepted by his parents, and because of his religion, he also believed something was wrong with him.

He attended a high school in California, where he was teased and bullied by his peers because of his shyness and his looks – after matriculation, he enrolled at the University of California, and graduated with a degree in communications 1987.

Career as a chiropractor

Andy opened his own chiropractic wellness center in Southern California, where he is currently working and where he is known as Dr. Andy Mauer – after his center gained attention in Southern California, Andy was featured in the “Muscle & Fitness” magazine. He specializes in headaches, stress reduction disc injuries as well as neck and low back pain – he is mostly focused on working with sportsmen and women.

Andy is also a bodybuilder who spends most of his spare time at the gym – he has been featured in many other sports magazines in which he usually talks about building your body, eating healthy food, and having a healthy lifestyle in general.

Andy has been very sporting since he enrolled at high school, and while there competed in several sports such as football and baseball, while he also ran track. Harvey was born into a Jewish family, and spent his childhood in Los Angeles – he studied at Grove Cleveland High School before enrolling at the University of California, Santa Barbara graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1972. He continued his education at the University of Chicago Law School, graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1975.

Harvey launched his career on 18 December 1975, when he became an active attorney working for the state of California – he held the position for 20 years, and was simultaneously teaching law at the University of Miami’s School of Law. After he began taking part in public debates regarding California Proposition 13- reducing property tax rates – in 1978, he became somewhat famous, and started writing columns for the “Los Angeles Times” newspaper.

He became the co-executive producer of “The People’s Court” reality TV show in 1997, and in 2002 created the “Celebrity Justice” court news show which aired until 2005.  Today, Harvey is mostly known for launching TMZ in 2005 – the website become popular very quickly after it released the story of Mel Gibson’s driving under influence arrest. After that, the website covered Rihanna’s abuse by Chris Brown, as well as the deaths of celebrities such as Brittany Murphy, Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson. Harvey had a chance to meet the President of the United States of America Donald Trump on 7 March 2017 in the Oval Office, and the two spent an hour talking.

Harvey runs his own company called Harvey Levin Productions, and is a writer who released “The People’s Court: How to Tell It to the Judge” book in 1985 – it was recommended for public libraries by “The Library Journal” trade publication.
