Andrew has become quite a popular chef, but before that, he struggled with alcohol and drug addiction which made him homeless for almost a year. He survived by stealing bags from restaurants and café shops, and sold what he could from those bags. Apparently Andrew managed to overcome the problems and has become the face of the Travel Channel. He’s hosted several of his own shows, including “Andrew Zimmern’s Bizzare World”, “Bizzare Foods America”, “Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern”, and “The Zimmern List”, among numerous others. He’s also worked in several New York restaurants, as an executive chef or general manager.

Once he moved to Minneapolis, where he worked as executive chef of Café Un Deux Trois in Minneapolis’s Foshay Tower.
