Who is Frida Gustavsson?

Swedish model and actress Frida Gustavsson was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on 6 June 1993, making Gemini her zodiac sign. She has 13 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing one of the main characters, Freydis Eriksdotter in 15 episodes of the critically acclaimed action adventure series “Vikings: Valhalla”, which also stars Leo Suter and Sam Corlett, and was created by Jeb Stuart. Set 100 years after the events in the series “Vikings”, the sequel follows the adventures of Harald Hardrada, Freydis and Leif Erikson; it’s been airing since 2022, and has won three of its 17 award nominations.

Frida was raised alongside her brothers Johan and Lerik in Stockholm, by their father Leffe and mother whose name remains undisclosed; not many details have been shared about her family, because she respects their privacy.

She was only five when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing Klasskamrat in the 1998 episode “Avsnitt 1” of the family drama “När Karusellerna Sover”, but she didn’t have any roles in the following 15 years.

In 2015, Frida played Jenna Svensson in both episodes of the crime action mini-series “Arne Dahl: Efterskalv”, and the year 2019 saw her portray Vuxna Thea in 13 episodes of the science fiction mystery “Drom”; it starred Emanuel Kielin and Adam Gutniak, and follows the life of a young girl with the ability to see the future.

Also in 2019, Frida played Ma in the episode “Much More” of the popular action adventure “The Witcher”, which has won six of its 29 award nominations, and she then played Luna Akkers in the 2019 episode “Nachtgespenster” of the crime drama “The Inspector and the Sea”.

In 2020, Frida portrayed the lead character Alex in all six episodes of the science fiction thriller “De Utvalda”, which also starred Felice Jankell and Amy Deasismont, and follows 12 girls who’ve awoken in a mysterious mansion, and have learned that they’re about to die in a medical experiment unless they find a way to escape.

Frida’s only other TV series role has been playing Clara in five episodes of the popular crime thriller “Partisan”, which has been airing since 2020, and stars Anna Bjork and Emelie Garbers. The series follows a man who’s taken a job in the gated community of Jordnara, and it’s won one of its three award nominations.

Some of Frida’s recent talk-show appearances have been in “Collider Ladies Night”, “The Roles That Changed My Life” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.

Modelling career

Frida opened the 2012 Valentino Haute Couture Fall Show in Paris, France and has since walked the catwalk for numerous famous designers, including Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Christian Dior.

She’s been the face of Maybelline since 2013.

Frida’s married twice.
