Born Liam John Neeson on the 7th June 1952, in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, he is the son of Bernard Neeson, a caretaker at the Ballymena Boys All Saints Primary School, and his wife, Katherine (nee Brown), who was a cook. He was the third child of four in the family, with three sisters, Elizabeth, Rosaleen and Bernadette. While in high school, he became interested in acting, but after matriculation, he enrolled at Queen’s University, Belfast to study physics and computer science.
However, he never graduated, and instead went to work for the Guinness Brewery, and played for the professional soccer team Bohemian FC, before he decided to try himself as an actor.
