Early life and education
Lavanya spent only the first two years of her childhood in Ayodhya, as her family then moved to Dehradun in Uttarakhand. Her father is a lawyer working in high court as well as civil court, while her mother was a teacher before retiring.
Lavanya grew up alongside her older brother and older sister, and the three all dreamed about becoming actors and dancers, although only Lavanya was serious about making her dreams come true. She studied at Marshall School, Dehadrun and then moved to Mumbai, enrolling at Rishi Dayaram National College graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2012.

Lavanya made her debut TV series appearance in “Ssshhhh… Koi Hai” playing a side character in several episodes, and then attended the audition for the “Get Gorgeous” TV series in 2008, aiming for the lead role but winning a support role. She gained recognition only after she was cast to portray Sakshi in the “CID” TV series from 2007 to 2010, while she was simultaneously playing Mishti Das and Araina Rai from 2009 to 2010 in “Pyaar Ka Bandhan”.
After her venture in TV series, she made her debut film appearance in “Andala Rakshasi” in 2012 – portraying Midhuna – and was then invited to play the lead role as Dr. Alekhya in “Doosukeltha” in 2013.
