Kate Flannery is an American television, film, and stage actress, who is probably best known to the world as Meredith Palmer in the TV comedy series “The Office” (2005-2013), and also as one half of the comedy duo “The Lampshades”, with Scot Robinson, with whom she toured the US.

Born Katherine Patricia Flannery on the 10th June 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, she is the daughter of Thomas A. Flannery and Joan Donnelly. Of Irish ancestry, Kate has six siblings, including her twin sister who is three minutes older than her. She went to Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, Pennsylvania, after which she spent two years at Shenandoah University, but eventually obtaining her degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Career Beginnings
Before she made her on-screen debut, Kate joined The Second City’s National Touring Company and Chicago’s Annoyance Theater, making a couple of appearances, including in “The Miss Vagina Pageant” and “The Real Live Brady Bunch”. In 1999, Kate made her on-screen debut, as Tonia in the comedy film “Can’t Stop Dancing” (1999). The same year, he had a minor role in the comedy film “Trick”, starring Christian Campbell, John Paul Pitoc and Tori Spelling.
Kate struggled to make her breakthrough on screen, and decided to return to the stage and as a result created “The Lampshades”.

The same year she portrayed Susan in the comedy-drama film “Fishbowl California”, starring next to Katrina Bowden and Richard Riehle. Kate is now working on a couple of projects, the comedy film “Golden Arm”, and the television film “Captain Karl’s Institute for the Abnormally Bizarre”.
