Fergie Olver was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada in the mid 1940s – he is a former game show host as well as a sportscaster, best known for hosting the “Just Like Mom” kids’ game show.
Childhood and education
Fergie spent his childhood in Moose Jaw where he was raised by his parents – he began watching TV at the age of five, especially game shows with his mother, who had a dream of participating in one.
He graduated from Moose Jaw High School, where he also played tennis; he didn’t attend college afterwards.
Career as a TV show host and other ventures
Fergie launched his career in 1960, when he began playing as an outfielder in baseball – he started off with minor league before progressing with Saskatoon and later Medicine Hat to the semi-pro Western Baseball League. He then moved to Major League Baseball, competing in the Western Major Baseball League, before switching to a career on TV in the late ‘60s.
Fergie had his first job on TV in 1969, when he became part of the CFCF-TV network based in Montreal, before switching to CFTO-TV located in Toronto – not wanting to entirely give up on baseball, he became a broadcaster for the Toronto Blue Jays’ baseball team in 1981, and stayed with them during the next 15 years. The Blue Jays went on to become World Series Champions in both 1992 and 1993, and Fergie’s broadcasts were aired on several networks including BBS and CTV – he received a Ford C. Frick Award nomination in 2004, given to a broadcaster who has contributed the most to baseball.
In 1981, he began hosting the “Just Like Mom” kids’ game show during its second season, together with his wife Catherine Swing, the creator of the show – the show ended in 1985 and Fergie’s behavior was questioned by both the audience and some critics, as they described his behavior towards the girls competing in the show as inappropriate.
Fergie had a small role in the “Face-Off” movie in 1971, in which he played one of the journalists covering a hockey game.

Fergie met Catherine Swing in the early ‘60s, and the two married by 1970 – they went on to host the “Just Like Mom” game show together in 1980 which also featured their two daughters named Carrie and Emily. The marriage lasted until 1985 when they divorced due to what appears to be infidelity on Fergie’s part.
Catherine Swing is a TV personality, actress, producer, and was also Miss Canada in 1978 – she is popular for appearing in movies such as “Katts and Dog” in 1989, “Forevet Knight” in 1992, and for playing in “The Outer Limits” TV series from 1996 to 1998.
Carrie Olver, Fergie and Catherine’s daughter, is a TV reporter working for The Weather Network, and can also occasionally be seen appearing on shopping channels. Fergie married Susan Wheeler in 1986, with whom he has been ever since – the couple has a daughter named Allison.

He enjoys watching horse races together with his wife, and has gambling a little throughout the years, mostly on horses. He is a family man who enjoys spending quality time with his family. Fergie’s former job as a sportscaster working for the Toronto Blue Jays took him all around Canada, the USA as well as to some European countries, which is how he became interested in travelling.
Today he often travels with his wife Susan – the two are living together in retirement in Canada – their daughter has already grown up.

I think they meant kissing a minor is not illegal.. And without charges being pressed then it cannot be considered sexual harassment because it is hard to prove it was without consent (even though it clearly was).
