Career as a TV show host and other ventures

Fergie launched his career in 1960, when he began playing as an outfielder in baseball – he started off with minor league before progressing with Saskatoon and later Medicine Hat to the semi-pro Western Baseball League. He then moved to Major League Baseball, competing in the Western Major Baseball League, before switching to a career on TV in the late ‘60s.

Fergie had his first job on TV in 1969, when he became part of the CFCF-TV network based in Montreal, before switching to CFTO-TV located in Toronto – not wanting to entirely give up on baseball, he became a broadcaster for the Toronto Blue Jays’ baseball team in 1981, and stayed with them during the next 15 years. The Blue Jays went on to become World Series Champions in both 1992 and 1993, and Fergie’s broadcasts were aired on several networks including BBS and CTV – he received a Ford C. Frick Award nomination in 2004, given to a broadcaster who has contributed the most to baseball.

In 1981, he began hosting the “Just Like Mom” kids’ game show during its second  season, together with his wife Catherine Swing, the creator of the show – the show ended in 1985 – Fergie’s behavior was questioned by both the audience and some critics, as they described his behavior towards the girls competing in the show as inappropriate.

Fergie had a small role in the “Face-Off” movie in 1971, in which he played one of the journalists covering a hockey game.

Love life and marriage

Fergie met Catherine Swing in the early ‘60s, and the two married by 1970 – they went on to host the “Just Like Mom” game show together in 1980 which also featured their two daughters named Carrie and Emily. The marriage lasted until 1985 when they divorced due to what appears to be infidelity on Fergie’s part.

Catherine Swing is a TV personality, actress, producer, and was also Miss Canada in 1978 – she is popular for appearing in movies such as “Katts and Dog” in 1989, “Forevet Knight” in 1992, and for “The Outer Limits” TV series from 1996 to 1998.

Fergie and Catherine’s daughter Carrie Olver, is a TV reporter working for The Weather Network, and can also occasionally be seen appearing on shopping channels.

Fergie married Susan Wheeler in 1986, with whom he’s been ever since – the couple has a daughter named Allison.

Controversy – Pedophile or not? Why wasn’t he arrested?

While hosting the “Just Like Mom” kids’ game show, Fergie had a habit of kissing young girls participating, and if they wouldn’t give him kisses, he would kiss them anyway – this was not illegal in Canada, and nobody pressed charges against Fergie, although many critics as well as the audience claimed that he was a borderline paedophile, meaning he thinks and fantasizes of girls and/or boys who are underage but doesn’t give in to his urges.

There were videos posted on the internet in which Fergie can be seen kissing girls while they are trying to break free from him – Fergie has been called a pervert due to his behavior in the show.

Hobbies and other interests

Fergie’s number one interest is baseball which he played while in high school, while he also played football and soccer during those four years. He’s a fan of the film industry, with his favorite actor and actress being Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie – two of his favorite movies are “Gone in 60 Seconds” and “Mr. and Mrs Smith”.

He enjoys watching horse races together with his wife, and has gambled a little throughout the years, mostly on horses. He’s a family man who enjoys spending quality time with his family. Fergie’s former job as a sportscaster working for the Toronto Blue Jays took him all around Canada and the US as well as to some European countries, which is how he became interested in travelling.

Today he often travels with his wife Susan – the two are living together in retirement in Canada – their daughter has already grown up.

Appearance and net worth

Fergie has gray hair and brown eyes, is 5ft 11ins (1.8m) tall, and weighs around 172lbs (78kgs) – his net worth is estimated at over $1.4 million, as of mid-2024.

    • This was back in the early 80s, You’d be hard pressed to find anyplace where sexual harassment was taken seriously by the law.

  1. Obviously, that man is a pedophile.
    I don’t know why he wasn’t arrested.
By the way, harassment is a crime in Canada, especially sexual harassment over kids.

    • I think they meant kissing a minor is not illegal.. And without charges being pressed then it cannot be considered sexual harassment because it is hard to prove it was without consent (even though it clearly was).

  2. Disgusting piece of shit. I hope your mouth gets chopped off you dry cum.

  3. It’s bizarre that everyone who saw it including his wife let it go on for years.

  4. Have you people ever heard of Jimmy Savile? Then ask yourselves why nothing was done about it!!

  5. This explained absolutely nothing about why he was never investigated and arrested.

Or why the fathers of these girls didn’t storm the stage and punch that pedo in the mouth.

  6. In this day an age ;this man is obvious in his intentions should be brought to justice for this.Dam him for doing this to those children with his wife as the Buffer looking on.
