Education and early life
Alexi spent her childhood in Chicago alongside her father and her mother Shelli while she also has a brother named Braxton and a sister named Aubyn – Alexi hasn’t shared many details with the public regarding her family, as she prefers to keep them away from the media’s attention.

Alexi launched her career as soon as she obtained her degree – her first job was for The Gate Undergraduate Political Review, where she stayed for four months as their political reporter. At the same time, Alexi continued her education, studying for her Juris Doctor degree, however, as her father lost the job which he’d for numerous years, she wasn’t able to pay for college, and therefore made other plans.
She moved on to work as a digital editorial intern, and a freelance political writer for the popular “Cosmopolitan” magazine, where she stayed for two years. She then started working for the “Bustle” women’s magazine in 2016, while she was also focused on writing about politics and international news – she became an associate news editor by the end of 2016, and was the one to cover the presidential debates for the magazines.
In March 2021, McCammond was appointed editor in chief of Teen Vogue, but resigned before actually taking up the position, after a series of racist, bigoted and homophobic tweets that McCammond posted a decade earlier came to light.
Alexi is mostly popular for the work she’s done for “Axios” which she joined later in 2021, an American information and news outlet – she’s been part of their team for two years now. She’s also had a chance to appear on several networks such as MSNBC and WJLA, while she could also have been heard on the WNYC public radio station.
