Who is Robert Ri’chard?

American actor Robert Andrew Ri’chard was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 7 January 1983, making Capricorn his zodiac sign. He has 68 acting credits, and is perhaps still known best for portraying Damien Carter in the 2005 biographical sports movie “Coach Carter”, which starred Rick Gonzalez and Samuel L. Jackson, and was directed by Thomas Carter. It tells the true story of Ken Carter, a high school basketball coach who benched his team after they broke a contract which they had signed with him – the movie won three of its 18 award nominations.

Robert’s currently shooting for five upcoming movies, which include “Streetball: Game Over”, “Silent Voice” and “Loosey”; he’s also shooting for the upcoming series “D. O. P. E. UNIT”.

Robert was raised in Los Angeles alongside his brother Brandon and sister Christina, by their father Jack Ri’chard who’s a former professional basketball player, and mother Beverly who was a gym instructor.

It follows a boy’s cousin who’s come to stay with the boy’s family, and the series was nominated for eight awards.

From 2001 through 2006, Robert played one of the main characters, Arnaz Ballard in all 113 episodes of the comedy “One on One”, which also starred Flex Alexander and Kyla Pratt, and was created by Eunetta T. Boone. It follows a sportscaster who’s been forced into becoming a full-time dad now that his teenage daughter’s moved in with him, and the series won one of its nine award nominations. He appeared in an episode of only a couple of series in the 2010s, including the comedy “King Bachelor’s Pad”, the crime drama “The Client List” and the crime action “CSI: NY”, and his most recent TV series role has been playing the main character Max Barringer in all 24 episodes of the comedy “The Rich & the Ruthless”, which aired from 2017 through 2021. It also starred Victoria Rowell and Richard Brooks, and follows the relationship between Veronica and Max who are working for a TV network; the series won two of its nine award nominations.

Robert’s debut film role was playing Clay Crosby in the drama “In His Father’s Shoes”, and he appeared in three more films in the ‘90s: the family drama “Our Friend, Martin” and the thriller “Light It Up” both in 1999, and the 2000 family sports drama “Alley Cats Strike”.

In 2013, he portrayed Jason in the comedy “Pastor Shirley”, which starred Andre Boyer and Tiara Ashleigh, and was directed by J. Horton. It follows a mogul who’s threatening to destroy Jason’s church and turn it into a strip mall.

In 2018, Robert portrayed the lead character Aaron in the family comedy “Throwback Holiday”, which also starred Jennifer Freeman and Rhyon Nicole Brown, and was directed by Trey Haley. It follows Jacqueline who’s living an unhappy life with a man whom she doesn’t love, and has now been mysteriously sent back through time to her high school years.

Robert’s three most recent film roles have been in the biographical sports drama “Sweetwater”, the musical “Big Boss” and the thriller “Queen of Hearts”, all released in 2023.

Other credits

Robert produced the 2004 short war comedy movie “Otto”, and the 2010 comedy film “The Prospects”, while he’s also the producer of the upcoming movie “RSVP”.

Some of his recent talk-show appearances have been in “The Jenny SuShe Show”, “All or Nothing” and “EZ Talk Live”.
