McQueen is probably still known best for his portrayal of Jeremy Gilbert in the fantasy horror-drama series “The Vampire Diaries”, also starring Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley. Steven played this brave and extremely loyal supernatural vampire hunter, who was one of the main protagonists of the show. Early life, family, and education

Born Steven Chadwick McQueen under the zodiac sign of Cancer on 13 July 1988, he’ll soon celebrate his 35th birthday. A native of Los Angeles, California USA, he holds American nationality and comes from a family of Filipino, Scottish, English, Irish, Spanish and Chinese descent. Steven is the son of the former actor and race car driver, Chad McQueen, and his ex-wife, Stacey (nee Toten), also a former actress, and a humanitarian.

Two years later, he guest starred in “Numb3rs”, “Without a Trace”, and “CSI: Miami” before he landed the role of Jeremy Gilbert in “The Vampire Diaries”. Between 2009 and 2017, Steven was seen in 133 episodes of this popular series (especially amongst teenagers), which followed the lives, dangers, loves, and disasters in Mystic Falls, a small Virginian town. It all started when one teenage girl found herself torn between two vampire brothers. The show had 67 award nominations and 38 wins, while Steven was nominated for the Teen Award – Choice TV: Male Scene Stealer in 2013.

Concurrently, during 2015 and 2016, Steven portrayed Jimmy Borelli in the action drama series “Chicago Fire”, starring Taylor Kinney, Eamonn Walker, and Christian Stolte, which won the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) Film and Television Music Award for Top Television Series, among many others. Steven played the same role in three episodes of the series “Chicago P. D.” in 2016.

Steven made his movie debut as The Kid in “Club Soda”, which brought him the aforementioned award in 2006. He reprised his role in the 2007 comedy-drama “Stories USA”, also starring Joe Mantegna, James Gandolfini, Michael Rispoli and Louis Gossett Junior; the movie followed ten characters as they set out to discover themselves in an alienating world riddled with tragedy, heartache and deception.

In the following year, Steven played Derek Beaugard in the TV movie “Minutemen”. He returned on the big screen as Jake Forester in the 2010 comedy horror “Piranha 3D”, which had 12 award nominations and two wins, including the Scream Award for Most Memorable Mutilation.

Steven’s next movie role came in the 2018 short science-fiction drama “The Take Off”, followed by his role as Wayne in the TV movie “Home by Spring”, in which he starred opposite Poppy Drayton.

Most recently, Steven was seen as Cal Breaker in the 2020 western “The Warrant”, also starring Casper Van Dien and Neal McDonough. The movie followed the story of two Union Army buddies, who after fighting in the Civil War, find themselves on opposite sides of the law. During 2009 and 2010, Steven was in a relationship with Trisha Cummings, an actress and social media star. When this love story ended, Steven began dating Candice King, also an actress and his co-star in “The Vampire Diaries”, however, they separated by the end of 2010.

Between 2011 and 2013, Steven was in a relationship with Hillary Harley, an actress, who also had a role in “The Vampire Diaries”.  In the following year, Steven had a romance with Dylan Penn, an actress and model, the daughter of the famed actor, Sean Penn.
