Who is Monet Mazur?
She rose to prominence playing fierce and successful attorney Laura Baker in the series “All American”, however, Monet Mazur has over 40 acting credits to her name, having entered the show business world in her early 20s. For years, she modeled for numerous popular brands, such as Gap, and made appearances in a number of hit movies. Monet is also well-known for her melodious voice, and she was a member of the band Nancy Raygun.

Early life, family, and education
Born Monet Happy Mazur under the zodiac sign of Aries on 17 April 1976, in Los Angeles, California USA, she holds American nationality, comes from a Jewish family, and was raised by her parents alongside her three brothers, Matisse, Miro and Cezanne. Their father is the famous artist and illustrator, Ruby Mazur, probably known best for the ‘tongue logo’ for the legendary band, Rolling Stones. Their mother, whose name hasn’t been disclosed, was a model.

Monet made her acting debut playing a Flirting Woman in the 1993 comedy “Addams Family Values”, starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, and Christopher Lloyd, which was nominated for the Oscar – Best Art Direction-Set Decoration.
Two years later, Monet was cast to play Lila in the fantasy horror “Raging Angels”, in which she starred opposite Sean Patrick Flanery. This was Monet’s first lead role, however, the movie didn’t gain much success.
The late ‘90s saw her co-starring in “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” (1997), “Welcome to Hollywood” (1998), “The Mod Squad” (1999), and later in 1999, she landed the lead female role in the thriller “The Learning Curve”, which followed the story of a pair of young amateur fraudsters. Monet played Georgia, and her co-star, Carmine Giovinazzo played Paul, Georgia’s partner in the scam.
Monet was next cast to play Maria in the 2001 biographic drama “Blow”, based on the life story of George Jung, who worked with the drug lord, Pablo Escobar. The stars of the movie were Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, and Franka Potente, and the movie had nine award nominations and three wins, including the Prism Award for Theatrical Feature Film.
Monet followed with her support roles in popular movies such as “40 Days and 40 Nights” (2002), “Just Married” (2003), “Torque” (2004), and “Monster-in-Law” (2005). In the following year, she starred in the romantic drama “Whirlygirl”, which followed the story of a young man, James (Julian Morris), who finds an adventure with a mysterious woman. The movie had no nominations, but the audience said that it was a ‘pretty good movie’, and rated it 5.6/10.
Monet was next seen in “Live!” (2007), “The Last International Playboy” (2008), and “Dead Man Running” (2009). Monet made her television series debut as Brandee Fields in the long-running drama “Days of Our Lives” in 1993, and then was seen as Erica in “Party of Five” in 1995. She appeared as Cassandra Tyson in an episode of the series “Strange World” in 1999, and as Laurie in an episode of the comedy-drama “Jack & Jill” later that year.
Monet’s next TV series role came in 2007 when she guest-starred as Lindsay Wade in “CSI: Miami”, followed by her role as Secret Service Agent Natalie Giordano in an episode of another crime drama, “NCIS: Los Angeles” in 2009. Monet was next seen as Gina Cowell in less than five episodes of the series “Castle”, during 2009 and 2010. She made an appearance as Georgette in the mystery crime-drama “Rizzoli & Isles” in 2012.
Her most notable role, to date, came in 2018, when she was cast to play Laura Baker in the sports drama “All American”. Monet was seen in 76 episodes of the show, through to its last season aired in May 2023. The series is based on the true story about Spencer Paysinger, the National Football League (NFL) Superbowl Champion. The stars of the show were Daniel Ezra, Samantha Logan and Michael Evans Behling; the series had eight award nominations and one win.

Love life, marriage, and divorce
Monet has been the subject of various rumors about her love life, and she’s dated some big names, such as the famous Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, Dave Navarro. Reportedly, Monet and Dave had an on-and-off relationship during the ’90s.
Monet also dated Adrien Brody, an Oscar-awarded actor – their love story lasted from 2001 through 2002 when they separated. Monet found a new love in the arms of another popular actor, Josh Hartnett, however, this romance was also short-lived.

In April 2005, Monet married British filmmaker Alex De Rakoff, perhaps known best for his work on the series “Snatch”. The couple welcomed their first son, Marlon, on 21 May 2005, while their second son, Luciano Cy, was born on 22 March 2011. Monet and Alex lived their lives away from the media’s attention, however, many were surprised by the news of their divorce in 2018.
As of July 2023, it seems that Monet is single, and lives with her sons in Los Angeles.

This 47-year-old actress is known for her long blonde hair and hazel eyes, and according to her fans, she’s still good-looking.
