American actor Mason Andrew Dye was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma USA, on 15 July 1994, making Cancer his zodiac sign. He has 17 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for portraying Jason Carver in eight episodes (2022) of the critically acclaimed fantasy horror series “Stranger Things”, which stars Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown, and follows a group of teenagers as they’re fighting off supernatural forces; the series has been airing since 2016 and has won 106 of its 401 award nominations.

Education and early life

Mason was raised alongside his younger sister Taylor and older brother Preston in Ada, Oklahoma by their parents, about whom Mason avoids speaking in public because he respects their privacy; it’s known that his sister Taylor’s one half of the female country music duo Maddie & Tae.

Mason studied at a local high school in Ada, and was mostly into acting during his time there, appearing in a number of school plays and often portraying lead characters. He was also quite sporting, as he played football for the school’s team, also ran track and played volleyball.

It follows a homicide detective working for the Los Angeles Police Department as he’s trying to solve the murder of a 13 years old boy, the series aired from 2014 through 2021, and won nine of the 23 awards for which it was nominated.

Mason’s only other TV series role has been playing Rick Kentwood in the 2019 episode “Animal House” of the comedy “The Goldbergs”.

Roles in movies

Mason’s debut film role was playing Marc in the 2013 family comedy “Adventures of Bailey: A Night in Cowtown”, which starred Frank Mosley and Mark Hanson, and was written and directed by Steve Franke. It follows the Bakers who’ve sold their company and have moved into a new home, and the movie won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a DVD Film – Young Actress, for Kenzie Pallone.

Mason could then have been seen playing Victor in the 2015 thriller “My Stepdaughter” and Tyler Evans in the 2016 drama “Natural Selection”. Also in 2016, he portrayed one of the lead characters, Josh Jackson in the adventure drama “Vanished”, which also starred Amber Frank and Dylan Sprayberry, and was directed by Larry A. McLean. Mason’s also known for portraying Bruce Kane in the 2017 thriller “Stalker’s Prey”, which starred Cynthia Gibb and Saxon Sharbino, and was directed by Colin Theys. It follows two lovers’ yachting trip which is about to take a wrong turn.

Mason’s appeared in only two other movies: the 2017 mystery horror thriller “Truth or Dare” and the 2018 thriller “Her Son’s Secret”.
