Who is Mason Dye?
American actor Mason Andrew Dye was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma USA, on 15 July 1994, making Cancer his zodiac sign. He has 17 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for portraying Jason Carver in eight episodes (2022) of the critically acclaimed fantasy horror series “Stranger Things”, which stars Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown, and follows a group of teenagers as they’re fighting off supernatural forces; the series has been airing since 2016 and has won 106 of its 401 award nominations.
Education and early life
Mason was raised alongside his younger sister Taylor and older brother Preston in Ada, Oklahoma by their parents, about whom Mason avoids speaking in public because he respects their privacy; it’s known that his sister Taylor’s one half of the female country music duo Maddie & Tae.
Mason studied at a local high school in Ada, and was mostly into acting during his time there, appearing in a number of school plays and often portraying lead characters. He was also quite sporting, as he played football for the school’s team, also ran track and played volleyball.
Upon matriculating in 2012, Mason chose to focus on acting rather than pursuing a college degree.
Roles in TV series
Mason’s debut TV series role was playing Brandon in eight episodes of the 2013 drama “Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader”, which starred Juliana Destefano and Asjha Cooper, and follows the life of former Angels All-Star cheerleader Emma Franklin.
Mason went on to play Christopher in the 2014 episode “Flowers in the Attic” of the romantic mystery mini-series “The Dollanganger Saga”, and the same year saw him portray Tyler in the episode “Revenge; Getting Rich; Aching” of the comedy “Review”. Also in 2014, he played Garrett in four episodes of the critically acclaimed action fantasy “Teen Wolf”, which starred Holland Roden and Tyler Posey, and was created by Jeff Davis. It follows a boy who’s been bitten by a werewolf, the series aired from 2011 through 2017, and won 23 of the 64 awards for which it was nominated.
Mason’s also known for playing Damon in nine episodes of the 2015 drama “Finding Carter”, which starred Cynthia Watros and Kathryn Prescott, and was created by Terri Minsky. It follows a teenager who’s discovered that he was abducted as a baby, and is now searching for his biological parents; the series won one of its two award nominations.
Mason went on to play Eric Hayes in the 2016 episode “Family Law” of the crime action “Major Crimes”, and the same year saw him play Mason in nine episodes of the comedy “Roommates”. In 2019, he portrayed Tom Galligan in eight episodes of the popular crime drama “Bosch”, which starred Titus Welliver and Jamie Hector, and was created by Eric Ellis Overmyer. It follows a homicide detective working for the Los Angeles Police Department as he’s trying to solve the murder of a 13 years old boy, the series aired from 2014 through 2021, and won nine of the 23 awards for which it was nominated.
Mason’s only other TV series role has been playing Rick Kentwood in the 2019 episode “Animal House” of the comedy “The Goldbergs”.
Roles in movies
Mason’s debut film role was playing Marc in the 2013 family comedy “Adventures of Bailey: A Night in Cowtown”, which starred Frank Mosley and Mark Hanson, and was written and directed by Steve Franke. It follows the Bakers who’ve sold their company and have moved into a new home, and the movie won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a DVD Film – Young Actress, for Kenzie Pallone.
Mason could then have been seen playing Victor in the 2015 thriller “My Stepdaughter” and Tyler Evans in the 2016 drama “Natural Selection”. Also in 2016, he portrayed one of the lead characters, Josh Jackson in the adventure drama “Vanished”, which also starred Amber Frank and Dylan Sprayberry, and was directed by Larry A. McLean. It follows Gabby and her sister as they’re dealing with the disappearance of millions of people.
Mason’s also known for portraying Bruce Kane in the 2017 thriller “Stalker’s Prey”, which starred Cynthia Gibb and Saxon Sharbino, and was directed by Colin Theys. It follows two lovers’ yachting trip which is about to take a wrong turn.
Mason’s appeared in only two other movies: the 2017 mystery horror thriller “Truth or Dare” and the 2018 thriller “Her Son’s Secret”.

Mason’s appeared in several talk-shows, including “Chelsea Lately”, “Steve Varley Show” and “Sleepy Waffles: Stranger Things Series Reaction”.
Love life and relationships
Although quite secretive when it comes to speaking about his love life in public, it’s still widely known that Mason’s today in a relationship.
He and American non-celebrity Carmen Joiner have been together for just over a year now, but they haven’t spoken about when they went out on their first date, or how they met; it’s believed that their mutual friend introduced them at a party, but this is yet to be confirmed by Mason. Carmen’s followed by close to 4,000 people on Instagram and she’s a huge animal lover; she’s even launched a separate Instagram account for her cat Willow, and it’s followed by more than 400 people.
There are no other women whom Mason’s been with, that we know about; he’s in a relationship with Carmen Joiner as of July 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Mason’s an Instagram star, as more than 500,000 people are following him on the network today, while he’s posted 65 pictures and videos, with most featuring him during his everyday life, whether he’s relaxing at the beach, shopping for clothes or having a beer with his friends.
He’s physically active, and often works out at the gym; Mason also enjoys playing tennis and basketball with his friends.
He’s been to a couple of US states, mostly to shoot for his movies and TV series, but has also travelled to several European countries, with his favorite city to visit being Athens in Greece.
Mason loves summer, as he gets to surfing, yachting and playing beach sports with his friends.
