Who is Zion Kuwonu?
Zion Kuwonu is a Canadian musician, rapper, who is best known to the world as a member of the boy band PrettyMuch, alongside other members, Edwin Honoret, Brandon Arreaga, Nick Mara, and Austin Porter. Signed to Syco, they have released three EPs, since the debut “PrettyMuch” in April 2018.

He eventually received attention from none other than Simon Cowell who, impressed by Zion’s talents, called him for an audition for the band Pretty Muc – the band was officially formed in 2016 with Zion being the only member who isn’t from the US.
Upon joining the band, Zion moved to Los Angeles, where he started living and training with his bandmates in a mansion, where they hone their skills as musicians, and Zion is also perfecting his dancing skills. The band started with cover songs, and like Zion began uploading videos onto the band’s official Instagram page. The band’s debut single “Would You Mind” came out in July 2017, which reached No. 40 on the US Pop chart.
The same year the band worked on several other songs, including “Teacher”, “Open Arms”, and collaboration with rapper French Montana “No More” showcasing a peek into the bright future of the band.
Rise to Stardom
The band’s first EP came out on the 19th April 2018, entitled “Pretty Much an EP”, and spawned such songs as “10,000 Hours”, “Hello”, and “On My Way”. Zion and the band then started working with Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac on the single “Summer On You”, and in October went on a fall tour, later working on new material, including singles “BLiND”, and “Phases”, before releasing their second EP “Phases” on the 24th May 2019.
Just a few months later, Pretty Much released their third EP, entitled “INTL”, which featured a collaboration with South Korean boy band NCT Dream, entitled “Up to You”, among other songs. Furthermore, they collaborated with the Latin-American boy band CNCO on the song “Me Necesita” – they haven’t talked about future plans, and there is nothing about a full-length album being released anytime soon.
