Lisa Marie Guerrero was born in Chicago, Illinois USA, on 9 April 1964 – her zodiac sign is Aries, and she holds American nationality. Early life and education

Lisa was raised in Chicago as an only child, by her Chilean mother Lucy Guerrero and her American father Walter Cols; her mother died from lymphoma cancer when she was eight, and her father then paid for her theatre therapy, which was how Lisa became interested in acting.

She was into many other activities while attending Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California, and appeared in various plays performed at the school, while Lisa also practiced creative writing and enjoyed playing sports.

She matriculated in 1982, and then chose not to pursue a college degree, but to focus on her career.

Career as a journalist

Lisa launched her career as a model straight out of high school, and the first half of the ‘80s also saw her become a cheerleader for the professional American Football team Los Angeles Rams. After a couple of years with them, she worked for the football teams New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons as their entertainment director.

It was in 1997 that Lisa launched her career as a journalist, when she was invited to join KCBS-TV and work as their sports anchor; after half a year there, she moved to KTTV.

She was hired by Fox Network in 1999, and could’ve been seen featured in their shows “Fox Extra Innings”, “Fox Overtime” and “Sports Geniuses”, amongst others; Lisa also co-hosted the sports show “The Best Damn Sports Show Period”, alongside Michael Irvin and John Kruk.

She joined the ABC in 2003, and became a sideline reporter for their show “Monday Night Football”, but was let go after only a year.

Lisa was featured topless in the magazine “Playboy” in January 2006, with the caption ‘The Best Damn Sports Beauty’.

She became a correspondent for “Inside Edition” on 15 June 2006, and was eventually promoted to chief investigative correspondent. The year 2011 saw Lisa win a National Headliner Award for Best Investigative Report, while she has also won six Clarion Awards for Television Feature Story/Segment – Comprehensive or Ongoing – National; Lisa has also been nominated for a Genesis and a Prism Award.

Why was she fired from ABC?

Lisa worked on the ABC show “Monday Night Football” for only a year before she was let go; the firing left her feeling humiliated and depressed, and led her to contemplate suicide.

According to ABC, Lisa was fired because she was considered to be ‘the weakest link’, and didn’t team well with her colleagues John Madden and Al Michaels.

Acting credits

Lisa made her debut TV series appearance in the 1990 episode “Night of the Killing” of the mystery crime drama “In the Heat of the Night”, the made her debut film appearance with her portrayal of Volunteer Bimbo in the critically acclaimed 1992 action crime fantasy “Batman Returns”. It was directed by Tim Burton, starred Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito, and follows the fight between Batman and the Penguin; the movie won two of the 33 awards for which it was nominated, including two Oscar nominations.

A couple of Lisa’s following roles were in the 1992 romantic fantasy comedy movie “Love Potion No. 9”, the 1996 episode “Cybill, Get Your Gun” of the comedy series “Cybill”, and the 1998 drama movie “Sunset Beach: Shockwave”.

In 1998 and 1999, Lisa voiced Francesca Vargas in the popular romantic series “Sunset Beach”, created by Josh Griffith and Robert Guza Jr., and which starred Lesley-Anne Down and Sam Behrens. It follows Tim Truman who has just caught her fiancé kissing another woman, and has thus left him and moved to Sunset Beach, California; the series won five of the 40 awards for which it was nominated.

Lisa had only four roles in the 2000s, including in the 2007 family adventure movie “A Plumm Summer”, and the 2008 crime movie “Winged Creatures”.

Most recently, in 2021 she played Wonderful Woman in the romantic movie “Super Heroes: The Movie”, written and directed by Wesley Wittkamper, and which starred Mark Aston, Geoffrey Baumann and Judi Beecher.

It follows Superbman and Wonderful Woman who have broken up, but have to work together to stop the invincible super villain from taking over the world; the movie was shot back in 1998, but wasn’t released until 2021.

Love life and husband

Lisa prefers to keep the details of her love life away from media, but it’s still widely known that she was once married – she exchanged vows with Scott Gavin Erickson on 3 February 2004, in a private ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members; Scott’s an American retired professional baseball player, who spent 15 years in Major League Baseball (MLB) with six teams, including the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Lisa and Scott have divorced for unknown reasons, but the exact date of their split remains undisclosed.
